About
If you're planning a day trip from Venice to the glassblowing island of Murano, watch a live demonstration in one of the island’s most beautiful workshops. Instead of a large, impersonal factory, step inside the Ex Chiesa di Santa Chiara, a former church transformed into a stage for the ancient art form. See master glassblowers spin and shape molten glass into elaborate shapes, while soft music adds an ambient touch.

Great visit, excellent customer service
My family of five visited and loved the glass blowing demo. It was 7 euro for admission in an old church that has been beautifully restored by the family who run the shop. You could purchase wine and of course shop the beautiful glass merchandise. I bought a lovely glass but got back to our apartment to discover it was cracked. I contacted the company and they apologized and said they’d replace it. We went back and not only did they replace the glass but gave me an extra for the trouble.

amazing atmosphere
Sep 2019
A wonderful place with an amazing atmosphere and interesting story.
We accidentally found it at the beginning of our walk around Murano and it was the right decision for start! After we watched the fascinating “glass show”, we examined with special feeling the numerous Venetian glass products while walking around the island.
But I read the story of the creation of this project just on next day. About how a little group of enthusiasts restored an ancient church, about how a person from another country was inspired with the traditions of the Murano island and completely changed his life. And it impressed me even more, since it is a close to me topic - to radically change destiny for the sake of a dream-idea.
I think it would be great to create some kind of mini-video about this (about the restoration of the church and the history of your team) for showing to visitors. This will help them to "feel the atmosphere" better.
I wish you further development and hope to return again.
You are cool guys! good luck!
Best regards, Eugenia (and Gala and Nastya) from Moscow

Beautiful venue, but not worth the fee: save your money for buying
Jul 2019 • Couples
My partner wanted to see a glass blowing demonstration and we picked and paid for this via tripadvisor for the 10:15 show. It was just the two of us there and the demonstration started late. It lasted maybe 5 minutes and there was absolutely no communication or explanation of what was being done, possibly due to a language barrier, but even that wasn't clear. Was nice to see the skill though, and the venue was unique. We happened upon another demonstration further into the island, which was also short but was for free, with bilingual (Italian/English) explanation of what the glass master was doing. Rather find one like that and save your money for buying something. Or perhaps try a later show when the place is busier (maybe the experience is better then?)

Great experience especially for the price
Jun 2019
I really enjoyed the experience, it was entertaining, the demonstrator was a real professional and knew what he was doing. The atmosphere in the building was great although the building was a little hard to find. A must-do if you visit Murano.

Great place
Jun 2019 • Family
Excellent demonstration of how they make beautiful glass in Murano, in a nice and unusual setting. The persons blowing the glass were extremely competent. they made a decent sized sea horse within 15 mins in front of us. the group watching the show is small and the persons nice. plus they do not hardsell their glassware like some other places. we purchased tickets inside the building.

Great experience! Limited shopping available.
Feb 2019 • Couples
This is a beautiful place to just take pictures! The restored church, turned into a glass blowing factory and showroom, is quite nice just to hang out and watch the glass blowing. But this may not be the place for tourists. There is very limited shopping in the showroom - more high end pieces than the type that most tourists may be interested in taking home. That being said, you could spend a few hours here just appreciating the artwork bering displayed. It was well worth the money to get in the door and see the glass blowing if you have not seen this process before.

Excellent Glass Blowing Demo by Great Glass Artisans
Aug 2018 • Family
I visited Murano Island with My Wife and two children and discovered The Glass Cathedral by accident and It proved to be a great find.

The demonstration was amazing incorporating great skill, showmanship, terrific music and a breath-taking venue.

Giuseppe Belluardo and his team are passionate about their art and very eager to pass this on as shown by their enthusiasm, knowledge and interaction. I recommend a visit to the Glass Cathedral to experience all it has to offer.

Giuseppe Belluardo took on the derelict site 5 years ago and rebuilt it to the magnificent venue it is today. True passion and dedication to his art, Thank you Giuseppe.

A lovely experience
Oct 2017 • Couples
We visited on 16 October and after several trips to Venice, finally saw glass being made.
This is a lovely space. There are many glass objects that are decorative in the space.
The maestro and helper demonstrated glass methods...creating vases, pitchers, ash trays, horses etc.
It is easy to see that this is an expert. Everything was set up for ease of visibility...padded risers to sit on...easy to see the furnace, the flame, the molten glass, canes for handeling the glass...how to add different colors.
Someone in the " audience" had a pitcher personally made having chosen the shape, size and colors....wish we did that!
Music accompanied this.
I think there is also a cafe on site.
The fornace has only been there for 4 years ( the maestro has been working glass since childhood).
Very welcoming, non-pushy at all...
A very educational and enjoyable time!

Very Interesting
Sep 2017 • Couples
Of course Murano is known for its glass and there's no shortage of choices in Murano. Most establishments that have a glass furnace will have a place where you can watch for a few minutes what's happening but at Ex-Chiesa di Santa Chiara you pay a few euros but it's worth it for the 20 - 25 minutes that you can watch a glass artists make two larger items that require different skills. It was fascinating to see them take shape. Worth the price.
