About
With the Amazon camping expedition, you will have the Amazon Basin at your fingertips. It is the perfect adventure for nature lovers, jungle explorers, and wildlife watchers who would like to experience the untouched Amazon. You will discover Ecuador’s Amazon in the Yasuni National Park, world-famous for its tremendous biodiversity and its authentic indigenous cultures which are still very much alive. On this trip, while passing through rivers and lagoons, you will feel as if the animals are following you. You will see displays of parrots, toucans, macaws, kingfishers, herons flying across the river, as well as curious giant otters who will approach the canoe to have a look. Many different types of monkeys will be jumping on the trees and there will be chances to spot jaguars, the master cat predators of the jungle. The Kichwa native people will share their history and we will learn about their rich connection with Mother Nature.

- Stay560484913070 contributionsAmazing Adventure & Great GuideWonderful adventure and even more beautiful than we imagined! The volcano, mountain, and lake views were absolutely spectacular!!! Accomodations were very comfortable and always private. Our guide, Jorge, was fantastic and really added to our experience with his great personal stories, humor, and local knowledge of the culture. He made us feel a part of his family and was very encouraging on the steep parts of the hikes. Can't wait to come back!!! Would strongly suggest this trip to anyone looking for a unique adventure.Written 28 September 2024

I saw beautiful cities and stunning landmarks and breathtaking landscapes and a wild jungle. I tasted the best chocolate in the world and drank some strange but very tasty local drinks. All that carefully assisted by David and with an excellent driver, Alejandro. Thank you for everything.Written 10 September 2024

- Melissa B0 contributionsAn unforgettable journey to the Amazon with my 16 year old daughter. This adventure exceeded my expectations on all fronts. First, I am thoroughly impressed with Adventure Journey’s staff. They did everything to make sure that this was the trip of a lifetime. Diego was our guide and did a fantastic job making sure that all of the logistics were in order. It was very helpful that he speaks English fluently since I only know basic Spanish. Wilson was our native guide. He also spoke enough English to communicate with us. He know the jungle very well and was able to spot and identify a variety of wildlife for us to observe, learn about, and enjoy. Ma Ma is a support chef. He prepared a variety of tasty meals make with mostly local organic ingredients. We enjoyed every meal. All these guys we passionate about the jungle and were excited to share I with us. Our accommodations were comfortable including comfortable mattresses and a large tent, and yes, even a real American style toilet and shower! I know that they must have put a lot of effort into creating this camp. All of our travel logistics including transfers were handled professionally and flawlessly. Veronica at the office was very responsive to our questions. The Ecuadorian people were very friendly. Safety was a concern of mine traveling with my 16 year old daughter. We felt very safe not only in the Amazon but during our stay in Quito.Written 30 August 2024

He was very knowledgeable and friendly, always smiling and tried to accomodate our every wish/need. We were well taken care of and felt safe at all times. Our driver Danny was exceptional. His driving was great and we felt safe driving in all conditions. He always greeted us with a smile and helped us when neededWritten 24 August 2024
- janetteo8940 contributionsVisit Ecuador for the rich history and spectacular scenery!Wow, what a brilliant trip! We couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Milton. His knowledge and experience made the trip a wonderful adventure for us. Ecuador is a country well worth the visit and we found the people to be friendly and welcoming. Our driver Dani did a great job on the sometimes chaotic roads and we always felt safe and well looked after by both Milton and Dani. The trip was well organised with an excellent selection of accommodation and we were always given great tips on where to eat or shop. We have learned a lot about how the people live here and the challenges faced by communities in their everyday lives. There are so many fabulous tourist attractions here yet not many tourists and if you love hiking then this is the place to come with spectacular scenery. We loved every part of this trip!Written 24 August 2024
- 159mitzig0 contributionsEcosystems of EcuadorOur group had a wonderful week with our guide Milton and driver Dani. They showed us the delights of Quito, the magic of the cloud forest and Mindo and the majestic Cotopaxi volcano. We loved our visit to a local community and rose farm for a tour and lunch. Dani navigated some challenging roads and traffic with great skill and good humour. Milton shares his extensive knowledge about the landscapes and history of this beautiful country with intelligence and wit. We saw hummingbirds and butterflies, even some toucans in the cloud forest. We did a ten stage zip lining trek, hiked to waterfalls and around a crater lake. We ate delicious seafood and bathed in thermal springs. Milton and Dani were there caring for us and attending to all the administrative details every step of the way. A brilliant tour.Written 24 August 2024
- LizzyBM0 contributionsPut Equador on your bucket list. The tour of Equador was guided by Milton and his driver Dani. We were in very competent hands. Milton had a depth of knowledge of the country’s history and current affairs as well as the ecology of the landscapes. He had an exceptional knowledge of Equador. Dani was a great driver. He also contributed to assisting us. I am 71 with some respiratory issues and without the kind patience and assistance of Milton and Dani I would not have been able to take part I. Many of the activities. I thank them deeply for tat and highly recommend them and this trip to be on the top of your bucket list.Written 24 August 2024

Experiencing the Waorani Tribe and seeing tons of wildlife. Pablo and Hector were excellent and knowledgeable guides. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone was well cared for and had a great experience. Their knowledge of the rainforest, animals, and anthropology was impressive. The food was excellent! Octavia, Alicia, and Maama made the trip extraordinary. Can't say enough good things about this trip and the guides. It was a once in a lifetime experience.

As an avid travel and adventure enthusiast I can honestly say this trip was unlike anything I’ve ever done. Our guides Wilson and Wellington were incredible. Their knowledge of the jungle was mind blowing and they were always smiling and helpful. To stay in Yusani is a chance to submerse yourself in the most raw version of nature there is. The biodiversity here can’t be captured in a picture or a review, it can only be experienced. I will be forever grateful for this trip.
