Refreshing adventure with a great guide
I joined a group tour for Prometheus Cave and Martvili Canyon from Kutaisi as a solo traveler on 17/02/25. The entire tour was such a fresh, interesting and enlightening experience. Such a cool excursion in every sense — both the stunning destinations and the enjoyable tour made the cold weather easier to handle. — We went to Prometheus Cave first, entry started at 1pm. We spent an hour exploring the cave. The cave and the rock formations were magnificent. It required a lot of walking, most of it through stairs to venture deeper into the cave, so you’d need a lot of energy and comfy shoes. There was also a light show with music towards the end which was marvellous and soothing. Through out our walk, the tour guide, Lasha, was brilliant and explained a lot about the minerals/formations, the historical significance behind the cave, and the notable figures associated with the place. It was a very informative and learning-filled experience. It gave me a newfound admiration for how fascinating caves are! The next stop was Martvili Canyon, we arrived around 3pm. This was a more refreshing/scenic outing. We got options to ride the boat, do zipline or walking tour. All the tourists chose boat ride plus walking tour. The boat ride along the water stream was nice and felt a little magical! (although kind of short?). After the boat ride, we were given free time to walk around the canyon, see the waterfalls and basically the overall nature surrounding it. It was a relaxing visit. It was cold and rained a little though, and apparently the canyon would look better in other season.. Still, had a nice time. We then had lunch at a restaurant near the canyon and arrived back in Kutaisi at 6 PM. Overall, the tour was executed smoothly, led by our guide, Lasha, who was knowledgeable and friendly. We even learned trivia and general information about Georgia from him, even though it wasn’t directly related to the trip, which was helpful for tourists. Also, despite the fact that I booked this rushed, like the night before the tour itself, the operator was responsive. When I visit Georgia again, I will definitely book a tour with Budget Georgia again, to discover more places as well. (P.S. During the day of the trip. I informed them I was going to be a little late due to transportation, and the tour guide assured me that they will wait with the driver for me. I truly appreciate that. Very accommodating company.)

Best tour you can ever book
I don’t say this lightly- but this was the best tour ever! Firstly, starting from the places we visited - all of them wonderful. I wasn’t thinking much when I booked, but this surpassed EVERY expectation. The tour guy, Giorgi, was beyond great. His English was flawless, his experiences, and his storytelling. He is also a history major and gave us explanations of everything we wanted. He never rushed us and let us enjoy every moment of this wonderful tour. The price is also very low - the price includes being driven for hours through somewhat difficult terrain. Dress comfortably and book this tour. It is AMAZING! 10/10 would do it again!

Prometheus Cave and Martvili Canton Tour
We had an unforgettable day exploring Prometheus Cave and Martvili Canyon on December 1, 2024, and our experience was made even more exceptional thanks to Luka, our incredible tour guide. Luka is a true professional – he’s not only knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly and accommodating, sharing the fascinating history of both the cave and the canyon in a way that made the tour both engaging and informative. His enthusiasm really enhanced the experience, and we appreciated how he made us feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout the day. A special thank you also goes to our driver, Valerie, who ensured a smooth and comfortable journey from Batumi to Kutaisi and back. We felt safe and relaxed the entire time, and Valerie’s hospitality added an extra layer of warmth to our tour. Additionally, we'd like to express our gratitude to Giorgi, Leonora, and the entire team at Budget Georgia for their excellent communication leading up to our tour. We received timely updates and reminders, which made the whole process seamless and stress-free. Both Prometheus Cave and Martvili Canyon are stunning, and this tour exceeded all our expectations. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience Georgia’s natural beauty with fantastic guidance and top-notch service. Thank you again to everyone who made this experience so memorable!

          Trip experience
-Martvili cave tour was 2 minutes, for 7e it costs it's terrible value.. -Both restaurants where tour guides took us charged different prices then on the menu, when I told the waiter I'm only paying prices written he told me he has the power to kick me off the tour.. I'm sure tour guides are well informed of the scam but they didn't warn us.. -Generally tour was nice and tour guide is good at what he does.. Prometheus cave is the only place worth the entrance fee..

          Rude and ignorant guide
I loved all the other tours by Budget Georgia, however, this time I was extremely disappointed in the guide Zurab. After founding out I was speaking Russian he completely changed his attitude to toxic, as a matter of fact he was rude to me the entire with me even though I'm not Russian nor I'm from Russia. Regardless, this isn't professional and appropriate. He is heavily prejudiced and thus his historical insights are quite subjective and rather emotional. I reported it to the company to avoid this type of behavior for future yet they ignored me. On multiple occasions he made me very comfortable by dismissing what I was saying and plainly ignoring at some times.

That was my highlight of the trip, particularly Vardzia. It's so beautiful. We generally enjoyed the trip and it was nice mix of various views and history. We would like maybe have a bit of more time in Borjomi. Our guide was great, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

Excellent tour of stalagmite rock caves and boating in canyon.
Excellent and memorable. Beautiful stalagmite rock caves of sataplia and Prometheus. You can see the wonder of nature. We went to Sataplia first. There are dinosaur foot prints. The local guide was speaking Georgian. But our guide from budget Georgia thankfully explained in English. The stalagmite cave was beautiful. You can take pictures inside without flashlight. Then they take you outside in a dinosaur park . Kids will enjoy this. Then you go to a view point which has a beautiful glass bridge. After this we went to Prometheus cave. Which is 30 mins ride in bus. Inside the cave it's a long walk. This is a bigger cave with beautiful rock formations. May be a bit tiring for old people , there is no place to rest in between. There is a boat ride inside the Prometheus cave to take you outside. I suggest you take it. Many people skip it but it's really worth. After this we went to Martyville canyon which is again 45 mins bus ride , in between you stop for lunch . This was a fantastic boat ride. Felt like pirates of Caribbean in the movies. We did not tried the zip line. After that there are view points in the canyon from you can take photographs. Overall good and memorable trip. Budget Georgia guide was very good and helpful and gave lot of information. I recommend you book the tour through them incase you are not a local Georgian.

Best Food and Wine We had in Georgia
Don't be put off by the slightly higher price for this tour! The food included was some of the best we had in Georgia. The focus of the tour really is on enjoying the food and the wine. There is some introductory information on wine-making in Georgia, but don't expect too much. We met some really nice people on this tour and George was a really hospitable guide.

          Always worth a trip.
Great tour with George! Despite the bad weather, George made sure the time flew by and we enjoyed the journey in the minibus. The destinations are standard touristy places, but George made it nonetheless quite enjoyable by adding loads of information about the Georgian culture and people.

          Scenery to die for
Saba was a wonderful guide and driver. We were picked up in Borjomi after our previous day hiking tour and got to enjoy tasting the Borjomi waters followed by a drive that will live in my memories forever - the drive from Borjomi to Vardzia is one of the most beautiful drives I've experienced in traveling around the world. Vardzia is incredible and Saba was very knowledgeable. He also made our lunch in Vardzia seamless - having us preorder and then calling to make sure the food would be ready when we got back from touring Vardzia. He's also a fantastic photo taker! His driving was impeccable and the whole experience was just fantastic. Budget Georgia is the best tour organizer I've had the pleasure of using anywhere.

I had an incredible experience with Tazo in Kutaisi, Georgia! The excursion was well-organized, informative, and truly unforgettable. Tazo shared fascinating stories about the history and culture of the region, making every stop along the way more meaningful.

The natural beauty of the places we visited, combined with Tazo’s local knowledge, made the day exceptional. I felt welcomed and cared for throughout the entire trip. If you’re looking for a guide who is professional, friendly, and passionate about Georgia, I highly recommend Tazo.

Thank you for an amazing day!

We were picked up at 7:50 am from our hotel. We meet Ika, our guide and our driver. There are only two of us on the excursion, unwittingly, we benefit from a private service. Ika speaks very good English. He knows a lot about the history of his country. He is passionate. Thanks to him, we learn a lot. Ika is a nice and friendly person.
The day was pleasant and interesting. We returned to Kutaïsi rather than expected, a little before 7 p.m. instead of 10 p.m. It didn't bother us as we drove back before the night fell, it was safer. Thank you Ika.

We were picked up from our hotel in the morning by our two very friendly guides,Giga and Omiko. There were only two of us on the tour, so we were able to interact and ask questions of our guides at any time, which made it a very personable experience. As we set off they explained our itinerary for the day in detail, and provided us with some history and culture of Georgia, they are both very knowledgeable. We stopped for coffee, the next stop was Surami, where we tried the Georgian sweet bread, "Nazuki", very delicious. When we arrived in Tbilisi, which is a city both old and new, the architecture contrasted of some very striking modern buildings and at the same time some very beautiful original and traditional ones. We took the cable car to Narikala fortress, from there we visited Legvatkhevi waterfall, the sulphur baths, Liberty Square, Metekhi church, Europe Square, bridge of peace, and the Jumak Mosque. Omiko our guide was talking to us all the time explaining about the various places we visited and their history, and telling us about all the relevant people in Georgian history, it was fascinating. After a long afternoon we headed to a restaurant for a very welcoming lunch, the restaurant was superb, thank you Giga for choosing such a nice place.I was very humbled and honoured to be asked to be the "Tamada", the toastmaster, at the lunch, I gave a speech about how happy we were to be in Georgia, such a beautiful country with all of its history and culture, and thanked our hosts for sharing it with us. After lunch we visited Jvari monastery which provides you with an amazing view of Mtskheta, Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers, again excellent knowledge from Omiko our guide. Next we stopped at Mtskheta and Svetitskhoveli cathedral. Mtskheta is considered to be the religious centre of Georgia, it has a church within a church, the later part being built over the original, it is beautiful. After this we set off back to Kutaisi. It was a long day, but one which is very much worth doing. The people from Budget Georgia were excellent guides and company throughout the day, if we go back we would do this tour again as there is so much to take in, so it would certainly be worth it. We would definitely book with Budget Georgia again if we return to see more of this wonderful country.
