The ruins are nice and enable you to understand the Maya civilization. But there are more impressive ruins in Chichen Ithaca and Uxmal

We visit with the Native Choice tour. Very busy in the parking lot, but large enough site that once at ruins, it didn't seem that crowded. Amazing ruins and glad we got to experience it!

We did everything at port, it'll cost you $3 to take a shuttle to nearby Mahahual or simply walk out of the Costa Maya complex and you'll immediately run into a taxi depot where you can sort out the transportation you need... More

Yes, generally the cruise-provided excursions are about 125/person for Chacchoben (at least at the time of our cruise, that was the price).
