An ex concentration camp in the WW2 now is a peaceful memorial just 20km far from Riga.Train or bus is available every 30-40 min.

This is about 11 miles outside of Riga. There are the stunning sculptures to honor those who suffered in concentration camps located here. The sound of a heartbeat at the main memorial site is riveting.
