- David DAlabama213 contributionsClarkes Rum DistilleryWhen touring Grenada, our guide suggested we pop in for a tasting tour. For three dollars you can taste as much as you desire and the rums are excellent. My favorite was the Old Grog brand. Rums and other items are available for purchase. If you desire, for a small fee, you can also tour the distillery . A very pleasant diversion.Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 19 March 2023
- NapiliRTampa, Florida278 contributionsWell Worth the Time & Entrance FeeThis was part of an island tour we took. We arrived after regular tour hours, but our tour driver negotiated our entrance. The tour of the distillery was very interesting. My husband doesn't drink, but he found all the workings of the distillery fascinating. I enjoyed the included tasting. Excellent selection of items for purchase with an itemized receipt for US Customs.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 19 December 2023
- Honest Review285 contributionsSpend 30min taking a walk or photo around the rum factoryMore then just a distillery, the large plot of land preserves large historical water wheel cane presses among other early era distillery pots & relics. The owner is fantastic, she is working to rejuvenate the land for exploration or events such as weddings. Great Rum blends too! Thanks for the free samples @ the factory as well as from the Christmas party bus.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 January 2024

We were lucky to arrive when the tasting shop was quiet (no coach tours around) so we could enjoy a relaxing tasting session and listen to the barman explain about the myriad of rums to try. You get to select 5 for $5. After that you can buy your favourites to enjoy later.

A really cool place to learn about how Rum is made and taste some delicious infused Rums. You cant beat the price of the the Rum they sell. Takes less than an hour and super cheap.

A disused and run down rum making site where sugar cane was used to distil rum from sugar cane juice that had been brewed to 7% alcohol. The weak alcohol was then distilled. There is some walking up and down open mesh stairs and gantries so sensible shoes advisable.
After a tour round the factory we were shepherded in to the tasting room where nine rums, 6 fruit based rums and five chocolate based rums were lined up. There was no restrictions to how many one could taste – what an opportunity. Regrettably, we had only time for all the normal rums, one passion fruit based rum and three chocolate rums. All very interesting flavours, and tasty. This was the best part of the tour.

Good oversight of the sugar and rum making process. Our tour guide was lovely and knowledgeable and there was an extensive range of rums to try at the end. Our visit was fairly quick, 45 mins max, so I would recommend as a stop enroute to other tours on the island (we were heading to Fort Fredrick).

It was really interesting to do the tour and tasting. There is lots of variety of rums and liquors to try (as someone who doesn't like rum I still really enjoyed tasting the liquors!). It was interesting to visit this as well as the rivers antoine as they are very different in production and scale.

It's amazing that this facility is operational. Take the tour and learn the history of sugar cane and rum on the island. Facinating machinery and buildings. Learned a lot and the tastings made our buying choices easier!

Originally we were to see a different distillery, but it was changed to this one. There are stairs, so take that in account if you have mobility issues.
The tour is short and there was taste testing at the end (which was always enjoyable). A lot of the equipment was old and rustic (the area we walked through) and to us, that is interesting.
