It is beautiful ~ close to many restaurants, shopping, book store and much more. Every Thursday evening there is a very large market set up along the waterfront .... so much to see and "buy". The people are friendly and we are enjoying a wonderful stay in our lovely condo.Visited March 2023Written 19 March 2023
- Usia2014Calgary, Canada1,885 contributionsClean with wide, paved boardwalkIt’s a marina with beautiful boats and an interesting lighthouse. On Thursday evenings, it gets very busy because there is a market with vendors selling arts and crafts and a variety of foods. There are several restaurants along here and a number of resorts within walking distance. We’ve never seen so many pharmacies in any one place that close to each other!Visited May 2022Written 17 April 2023
- alschu11Orland Park, Illinois29 contributionsVery good PV area with easy accessNice upscale area near airport. Marriott was excellent, esp staff (Christian, Septimo, Hassa, Daniel, Martha, …). Several good walkable restaurants, incl. La Terrazza di Roma (Alvaro and Martin), Banana Fajita, and El Faro 36 Lighthouse. Ackua Spa nice for massage. Money exchange and varying rates was big problem. Bring small bills and change to pesos at airport. Low season is very humid and hot.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 October 2023

We had a great excursion experience with Vallarta Adventures, taking us to Yelapa and Majahuitas, feeding us, able to snorkel, kayak, ride a 4-wheeler, and visit some of the local community and vendors. The beach scene at Suyalita was a great vibe as well. A bit crowded, but the people are friendly and the food is excellent!Visited March 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 13 March 2024

Nice place to go if like checking out the boats. We spent a couple of hours walking around the marina looking at the boats and investigating the stores and restaurants.

No need to visit the botanical park. We saw a crocodile in the water at the Marina. Lots of restaurants, but some of the food prices seemed almost as high as what I would pay in California.

Nice promenade with many restaurants. We ended up in Victor's Place and that was great, both food and drinks. Definitely recommended.

Love the marina. Rather go there to eat than downtown but love downtown for a nice 5 star dinner. Victors is great for breakfast. La Condesa has great food.

Hi everyone,
I thought i just put it out there to save others wasting their holiday time on BS....
There is a Tourist Information Desk at the "Main Marina" in Puerto Vallarta. The guys there are very willing to help people.... but then they come up with some Luxury hotel chain, that they can refer you to and you go there, have a free lunch, take pics, etc etc.... all free and fun, they say....
In reality tho... you go to the hotel... meet some sales reps... no pics, no fun, but they try to sell you a holiday package worth 18.000USD :D:D:D and if turn them down, which i bet most ppl do... then they call in their managers to try to convine you that how good of a deal that is etc etc you know how it goes...
So cut a long story short.. DO NOT fall for the " day in a luxury hotel" scam. The reps will get their commissions and you enin up wasting 3-4hrs of your holiday on their sale pitch... :D:D:D:D

Hi all! Is this just a Marina where people dock boats, etc or is there a living area like a resort/time share attached to the marina? The website doesnt specify, and i see people saying they stayed here (but i dont know if maybe they rented a boat/yacht) thanks all!

The marina is an area of town per se. There are boats there but also a Malecon ( boardwalk) where there are stores and restaurants. There are condos and homes in the Marina area too. Tourists would likely go to the Boardwalk. Yachts and such are parked there not cruise ships, they go to the Maritime area.
I myself love the Marina area and many of its restaurants and resorts. It is very close to the airport and an easy bus or taxi /Uber to anywhere. Hope this helps.

Has anyone used the beach called Playa el Salads in Puerto Vallarta? I am trying to find a beach to use while we stay in the Marina. Thanks.

There’s a great beach just seaward from airport. No restaurants but there’s a turtle egg/baby sanctuary. Just on other side of shopping center. Great mosaics on the wall on walk down.

How far is it from marina to beaches

I stayed at Vamar Vallarta so the only beach we went to was across the street at the sister hotel. The Malecon has accessible beaches but it is at the other end of Puerto Vallarta. It is about a 25 minute bus ride.
