Good for a nice photo ... but don't make it a destination, the road towards the lake is private property so one can see it only from the road. You can see it on the way to Carcross from Whitehorse

This is a great place to take pictures. The legend is that the northern lights stay here during the summer and return to the sky during the winter. The lake looks just like the northern lights. Take some time to enjoy the view.

Just a great spot for pictures. Large look out. Climb the mountain across the street to get a better view!

We rented a car in Skagway and took a drive North to White Horse, Yukon, Canada. Emerald Lake was the highlight. Beautiful body of water beyond description. We also went Carcross, Miles Canyon and White Horse.

Like many reviews here, I did enjoy seeing the lake; it is beautiful and glad we stopped by. Like others, I wouldn't just make a trip here to see this lake as we also then went down to Carcross and took in the sights and...More

Views over Emerald Lake from the highway pull-off were ok, not as exciting as I anticipated. Lots of traffic.

Yes, December could be a good month, it always depends if it's clear or not. The best thing is to check the activity. I live in the Yukon and I saw beautiful northern light lights, as well as in NWT and even southern parts... More
