Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A nice old town to visit. We came here for a day trip off a cruise ship. We used the small bus / train service that had the Old Town as a second stop (Small railway bus stopped at harbour area), where we got off and looked around, visited a church, looked at some art, had a croque and drink, then went on a day trip via the harbour boats near by to the other side of the bay for a walk around. There are plenty of restaurants and enough bars to explore and if your coming in via a cruise, the cruise terminal is very close by (Towards the old Church - around 5 to 7 minutes walk)

This was the first stop on our cruise. We didn’t do an official trip, we picked up an excellent map from the tourist information by the ship. It was a really lovely walk around the town. The map was very good and gave you tours to follow. There was a lovely market with lots of fresh produce, clothes and leather goods. It was a very pleasant morning walking around learning about the history. In our opinion there is no need for an official trip, very easy to get about and see everything.

Old town Toulon. Navy, tourists, hookers; mafia, it's got history. Those walls have got stories to tell.

Interesting old town an easy walk from the Tui Marella Spirit cruise ship we were on.

Toulon was probably the destination on our trip with the least amount of exciting activities to check out, but the town centre was pretty nonetheless.

There’s a local market, statues and a mall. The harbour area was worth a walk through also.

If you are waiting on the boat this is a quit nice town to pass some time. Otherwise i would not recommend. Looks like it use to be a beautiful charming town once. Now it is full of kebab places, men hanging on the street (no women to be seen?) and junkies.

Great for wanderers. The curved streets and limited traffic lead to kids playing ball and locals chatting on the shady side of the street.

Visit Old Town Vieux Ville as it is well worth the time, one thing I love about Europe is there is always an old and a new town so there is a choice.
Rustic old buildings, restaurants and shops, statuary interesting sights.

We traveled to Toulon on a cruise ship and then took a daytime walking tour of the old town and other parts of the city. We enjoyed ourselves but could not help but wonder if we should have taken the little tourist type train that we saw going around many of the same places we were walking. We decided oh well too late now we will have to call it our exercise for the day.
