Well worth a visit, harrowing history but needs to be remembered. I visited this place many years ago when it was the General Walker Hotel for the American Forces based in Germany, its changed out of all recognition and I believe only one of the...More

We were really impressed. The staff were friendly and spoke English. the displays were comprehensive and informative. We had the audio guides and picked from what was on offer. It’s obviously a harrowing piece of history and I’d certainly had enough after about an hour...More

Built on the grounds of the former General Walker Hotel, the museum offers a look at many artifacts from the World War II era. You can also go down underground and see some of the old tunnels and living quarters that were used during the...More

The documentation center is being redesigned, but in the meanwhile you can pay a visit to a very well documented, interesting narration about the nazi Germany and about the Berghof. It is very crowded, so I suggest be there very early in the morning.

Why do people moan about visiting a museum when they aren’t interested in the history, beats me. So to all those people who moan about being ripped off or the staff not speaking English (which they do by the way) etc, go on the web...More

Great treatment of the rise of the Nazis in this region, especially the film with first-hand accounts of the property seizures in Obersalzburg and also the trip around the underground bunker. Very reasonable price especially with guest-cards, and audio-guides in English. Some harrowing pictures of...More

Good visit for history geeks. Learn a lot about Hitler and tour the bunker he built. They had audio tours in English. My one complaint is that kids couldn't have an audio tour device so they couldn't learn everything.

The Documentation Obersalzberg is located a couple of miles east of the town of Berchtesgaden on highway 319. The bus stop up to the Eagles Nest is next to the Documentation Obersalzberg.

I'm sorry I don't know. If you enter the address for the kleinsteinhaus, you'll be at the same parking lot. Documentation Center sits below the parking lot for the eagles nest . And once you're nearing obersalzburg signage... More
