We did the English tour organized by the museum, and we were very pleased. The guide was really informative, engaging and answered the questions of each member of the groups. I was disappointed that i never got his name, but i do know that he...More
Intresting and sad. So much energy and effort was spent on things beyond comprehension.
The building and the interior is kept as it was when STASI left in 1989. Very good english audio guide is provided.
This museum is a time capsule of East German life, the Stasi permeating every aspect of its citizens' lives, and using a huge proportion of the population as (frequently unwilling) informers. The English tour was given by an engaging Frenchman who was clearly passionate and...More
Entry here is free, but we took the English speaking tour which runs twice a day at
11.30am and 2.30pm. Price for the guided tour is 6 euro each, and it lasts 2 hours. Check tour times before coming out as it's a good 45...More

Went to the Stasi museum and did the English guided tour. The insight into the workings of the Stasi and life in the GDR was just incredible. A really informative and really moving tour with a fantastic tour guide. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Berlin.

The 3:00 pm tour in English was painfully slow because the tour guide had a hard time speaking English, which was a shame because some of his information was extremely interesting and relevant. After he finished we spent over an hour exploring all the rooms...More
This place is a little far from most of the attractions in Berlin. However, if you are interested in cold war era history, then I would definitely recommend coming here. It is in the former Stasi headquarters. The museum shows how the Stasi came to...More
Had heard & read lots about the East German police & secret service over the years and wanted to learn more about their inhuman methods. Even took a local on the visit since he admitted he had never been there. The day we visited it...More
