As of today, the tower is completely obscured by scaffolding so really not much to see. It is a landmark of the city, so we passed by anyway, but will need to return when the works are complete.

The guided tour is the only way to reach what is currently the highest point of the tour, and you can only climb, but seeing the inside is not the only bonus. The view over the city is superb.

I recommend buying tickets in advance online. This way, you don't have to worry about your preferred tour time selling out. The tour is given in Dutch and English. But if everybody on the tour speaks English, and the Dutch guests say it is ok,...More

Note that it's been under scaffolding for almost 2 years (2017) and will be for another 5 (according to their reply to my insta). Makes the tallest religious tower in the Netherlands a bit underwhelming, but still a landmark! Worth checking if they're still doing...More

The Dom tower is shrouded in scaffolding until 2022 but the hourly tours to climb the 450 or so steps are still operating. You can only go up on a guided tour, but the guides are good and make it very interesting. There are three...More

We climbed the tower, all 460+ steps. Was tiring but thankfully a few educational stops along the way. Fascinating history and great view from the top! Worth the cost.

The dom tower is very special as it stands on its own for centuries! Currently it is going under restoration, but even with scaffolds around, it looks like a modern artwork.

Given its age not too surprised to find it under going restoration so no out side photos for another year or so. Do not let this put you off as it’s the inside that counts. Small group time slot admission with a guide only. The...More
