    Stunning
World famous site which is well worth the visit. It only cost 10 euro to enter which is cheaper than most car parks. The walk up is medium difficulty but all ages can cope and the view of Athens is amazing. The walk back afterwards is also great as there are hidden gems in the alleys and streets around the area. There is a railway station nearby and all the hop on buses also cater. One of the best sites I have visited.

    Glory reestablished..
This magnificent building is slowing coming back to its former glory. The renovation work done for decades, already completed almost entirely three sides of the colonnades, with only the southern missing few columns. Considering the time it was built its an unbelievable feat of architecture, beauty and art.

    Historic site
Mid April seems to be a good time to visit Athens because it's not too crowded. However that being said the Parthenon still had a lot of visitors. Fortunately we visited on a "monument day" and all the historic sites had free entrance. It is worth researching when this is as it saves a lot of money. The site had some good displays describing the site and the history.

    Absolutely fascinating
An obvious must-see in Athens, the Parthenon and all other structures on the hill of Acropolis are breathtakingly beautiful and majestic. Brief descriptions of the objects and the work done to them add to the experience. I recommend visiting the Acropolis Museum first, to get the deeper background and know what to look for beforehand.

    Parthenon and Acropolis of Athens
So worth a visit. Buy a multi venue access ticket at a quieter venue and skip the long queues. The views are amazing but it can be slippy so wear good footwear. It gets really busy too so try and get there early or late. There is a lift at the rear entrance for access to those with mobility issues. Go for it - you'll love it x

    Knock your socks off!
This should be one of the wonders of the world. It's nearly impossible to figure out how they accomplished this thousands of years ago without modern technology. But, if you get a good tour or go to the Acropolis Museum, you'll get an explanation.

Ancient Greek architecture at its finest
The Parthenon, even in its damaged state, is a breathtaking example of ancient Greek architecture. It will add much to your experience if you read up about it in advance to understand the ingenuity of the architecture. Expect to see scaffolding and other equipment, as it seems to be is a constant state of reconstruction and repair.

    A must see
Truly a marvel. 2500 years old and it’s no wonder Greek architecture is heavily influenced by many different cultures around the world. You’ll have to visit the Parthenon on the acropolis even if your trip to Athens is a day.

    Simply awesome
The jewel in the Acropolis' crown, the splendour that is the Parthenon. Standing so very proudly at the top of the hill full of history and with an amazing story to tell. This was by no means the first time we have visited (except for our little one), though you can never get tired of visiting this absolute wonder of the world! You cannot help but admire the sheer size of the structure and wonder just how did they build this all those years ago? It is a shame there is so much scaffolding around the temple though I guess this is needed in order to preserve this wonderful monument. Without doubt a must see if in Athens, would be rude not to!

    Return the Elgin Marbles
This is part of the Acropolis visit, and is included on the Ministry of Culture 5-site ticket. It's under extensive restoration, and the entire back side (the side you see upon entry) is in scaffolding. It's good to know that it is being taken care of. There's a big blank space in the front where the Parthenon Marbles should be, but they are in the British Loot Museum and renamed the Elgin Marbles. They should be returned as part of the restoration.

Although not named as one by them, this magnificent testimony to the ancient world and it's vast reaching impact deserves a spot on this list.

Stunningly situated on it's outcrop, the monument is imposing even against the backdrop of modern Athens.

With a historical legacy that cannot be underestimated, the experience is certainly improved on a guided tour, where you are given a window into the fascinating history behind it, and how it's architecture and the beliefs and inventions creators have impacted the entire world in the mellenia since it's construction.

Amazing to see, highlight of my trip to Athens. I didn’t want to leave the Acropolis area! Perfect weather and not too busy. Got a ticket straight away (8.30am) and went in. Amazing views at the top.

The Parthenon is a steep hill; it towers over the city of Athens. The best-known and attractive feature is the ancient Acropolis, one of the world's best-known temples. The brilliant structure venerates Athena, who was patron goddess of the Attican city state. The construction on the Parthenon occurred around 400 BC. A number of structures can be seen, which are not as well-known as the temple but are interesting. Getting to the Parthenon and Acropolis is convenient; the steep approach is worth the effort.

Although the front is currently covered in scaffolding, this ancient and renowned temple is still a thing of beauty. Visitors are able to walk around all sides and admire the structure. There are also information boards about the history of it

Nice place to walk down the history lanes of Greek. Look back at the ingenuity, craftsman ship, masonry, history, heritage and a lot these structures reflect even today. Much in the process of restoration otherwise a dull city of Athens

The Parthenon recently limited the quantity of visitors per day. This happened after we had already booked an excursion. Therefore, when we got there, we were told we couldn't go in! Maybe we'll be able to get there again in order to actually go in and experience it.

Really impressive structure on the hill with magical views of the city.
Obviously due to its age there is scaffold and cranes in areas.
Worth the walk
