Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fun place to visit! The burial mounds were amazing. The museum was just okay. But the church and the rest were very cool. Good for kids!

While not all that impressive to look at, the mounds are truly astounding because of their age and history. It's a nice walk around the area and you can see the line of mounds from many viewpoints. We did not visit the museum due to time constraints, but it gets good reviews. We did visit the church, which was quaint, with an amazingly well-landscaped cemetery.

A fantastic low priced look at Swedish and Viking history. You can also see what a really old church looks like (been there since 1300s)

They built a christian chuch on top of it, that we are not allowed to tear down. But under that church are the old Uppsala temple.

The mounds are very important from a historical perspective although there’s not a lot to see. There are lot of informative signs, however, which are also in English.
We were on a tour and did not to get to see the museum.

This is a place filled with historical atmosphere. The grave mounds and the Museum give a Viking feeling, and the beautiful church has been around more or less since the onset of Christianity in Sweden. The interior is worth seeing. Moreover, it is a restful place, accessible by bus, car, bicycle and on foot.

What an incredible place. The history of this place is fascinating. A centre for Norse worship and meeting of the Things of Sweden. The museum is also great and even has a dressing up area to play at being Vikings. Go and be gobsmacked at the burial hills and its history.

There is a well-signposted trail from the cathedral to Gamla Uppsala which takes a bit over an hour to walk. In good weather, it's a lovely trip. The site itself is not spectacular, but has a good museum for the historical background (guided tours available in English) and a nice restaurant/café nearby.

up north of gamla.
went there by train, then yellow bus, from stockholm.
if you expect to see by yourself archeological remainings you will be disappointed : the mounds have been searched by professionals, but now every dig trench tunnels have been filled up. you see nothing, only vague mounds.
comments around then are making a lot of suppositions, nothing certain.
the museum is tiny. I mean really tiny, and there not much to see.
this is not the place to see vikings remains at all. Save your day for other places in sweden, like visby maybe
