Spent Saturday evening in Howth. Walked the two piers. Both piers are lovely, the first with the restaurants, coffee shops, fish mongers and fishing vessels. The other pier has nicer views and the fabulous lighthouse structure looking out to sea.

Although the lighthouse is nice and quaint it is no great shakes really. However, the reason it's a must do is the lovely walk to it from the town along the pier/harbour wall.

If I were a ship I'd rather crash than visit this place. The seagulls were rude and my food arrived cold. I told the waitress and she knocked 10% off my bill but the show has already started so I missed part of the overture.
