    Great memorial
There isn't much to say or see here especially if you don't have anyone on the wall. However, it was nice just to walk along and see the things left behind for these heros. It was nice just to pay respects. If you do have someone on the wall you can pick up a piece of paper for an etching of their name.

    A Solemn and Impactful Memorial
Regardless of your opinion of the Vietnam War, or War in general, you cannot fail to recognize the enormous sacrifice of over 58,000 men and women who died in the war. The sheer magnitude of their numbers really sinks in when you see each and every name carved into the black stones. This is a must-see.

    Moving and emotional, a must-see
This was an extremely moving memorial, so meticulously created and respectfully kept. We spent longer than anticipated here and could not help feeling emotionally drained afterwards. A must-see to appreciate what effect the War had on the US

    Vietnam Memorial
This memorial is easy to access and close to the Lincoln Memorial. The wall of names as well as the individual statues nearby are really a sad reminder of that dreadful war. There are bathrooms and drinking fountains nearby. There is a ledger for anyone who is looking for a particular name, and the wall of names is from earliest to last. Very powerful memorial.

    Don't Miss It
Having bought a painting of the memorial when I was in New York in the 90's, I knew this would be a 'go to' if I ever got to DC. And it didn't disappoint. Beautifully done, thought provoking, poignant, a wonderful way to remember those who gave so much. Would recommend visiting during the day and night if you have the time

A very nice memorial despite the sadness
The memorial is a well thought out tribute. Sad to see over 58,000 names had to go on this. Plenty of walking space here. Nice to see people have put flowers and photos here upon their visits

    Brilliant in its simplicity
When I first heard what design had been selected for this memorial, I thought it grossly inartistic and unworthy of what was to be memorialized. When I saw it in person , I realized how wrong I was. This is utterly compelling and a must stop for DC visitors.

Wonderful..I have a family member who is a Vietnamese vet. The wall is awesome and reverent. He was able to find the names of a couple of buddies and broke down in tears.

A very moving tribute to the fallen soldiers. It is just next to Lincoln memorial. I was sad to see so many lost lives during the war.

Very moving tribute to those lost during The Vietnam War. Features three names of all those lost over a large series of walls while serving during the war. Sad that the list is so long

For me, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial is the most poignant of all the monuments and memorials in Washington. The black granite wall, with names of the fallen, is a spot that is always moving to me.

It is seemingly just a wall of names, but those thousands of names tell their own story of this event which happened, for many of us, in our own lifetime.

This a simple and somber memorial, unlike any other on the National Mall. The focal point is not a grand monument, but the names of the more than 58,000 fallen soldiers themselves. It has a lot of interesting symbolism and history, and is a very fitting place to honor the memory of those who served.
