The place is nice, feels deserted as we were the only ones there. Had a quick tour of the museum and the empty park. Should do something to make it more lively

The Soviet era victory park seemed a little worse for wear when we visited. Yet Mother Armenia remains vigilant. Climb up to this grand statue and gaze over Yerevan. You'll be happy you did!

Great views from up here on a clear day of the twin peaks of Mount Ararat in the distance. Walked through a closed amusement park (February) to the Cascade and back down to the city. Old tank, MIG fighter jet and rocket launchers are on display as well as a memorial flame for Soviets lost in WW2.
Nice to see the views on a clear day.

She overlooks the city where Stalin once did. I'm sure I like here better. She is grand and there is an eternal flame up where she is also. On a good day you can also get a great view of Mt Ararat from the place where she is.

VICTORY PARK AND STATUE OF MOTHER ARMENIA is an imposing female statue (representing Armenia) with a sword (symbolizing peace with strength), located in the Victory Park of Yerevan, constructed in 1967 after the demolition of the Stalin’s Statue (1962). The pedestal is a monumental structure [from basalt (29m high) with a small museum within)] and with the statue (from hammered copper 22m high) the Monument reaches the high of 51 m and can be seen from every part of Yerevan city. In the front and on the basement there is the tomb of the Unknown Soldier with the eternity flame burning. You can take amazing photos from here (the best viewing point of the City).
The Victory Park is a public park created in a hill overlooking Yerevan (Kanaker Zeytun district) before the WW2, renamed after the War and now comprises (except the Statue of Mother Armenia and the underneath Museum), the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, some old Russian weapons from WW2, a Ferris wheel and the Heroes Alley and remains a nice amusement park with the best view to the city (after the new opening in 1985).
We have visited the Victory Park and Statue of Mother Armenia and found this attraction interesting, while the views over the city are really astonishing (providing aerial views).

Not far from the "Cascade Complex" in Yerevan's "Kenaker-Zeytun District", a park and a monumental statue are part of the regular city tours. This is "Victory Park", a park celebrating the victory of Soviet Armenia in the World War II. At the top of a huge pedestal, which resembles - in its interior - an Armenian Church, a statue of Joseph Stalin was unveiled in 1950. After his death, the statue was removed and replaced, in 1967, by "Mother Armenia" - a 23m high statue by artist Ara Harutyunyan, representing the Armenian nation, the importance of women in the Armenian society and peace, but with strenght. "Mother Armenia", with her sword, overlooks Yerevan and can be also visited in the evenings, when city's lights are on. Inside the pedestal, a military museum about the participation of Armenian soldiers on World War II and also on the Nagorno-Karaback war. Awesome views and nice pictures to take home. Enjoy!
