Although the taxi driver said there is nothing during the day time but when we got there, it was a blow. Lots of people, lots of local street food and lots of things to shop. It is right opposite a beach and it could be...More

I came to Xiamen during the Golden Week. I did not purposely come to visit this `fishing village'. I was strolling my way from Xiamen University along the coastal beach and somewhere near Baicheng Beach, I saw a heavy crowd causing a traffic jam at...More

Our first tourist stop while visiting Xiamen. First taste of local snacks and food with many stalls, perhaps too many, to try out. An eye opener. Of course many stalls are selling the same food. Can find a few souvenirs shops.

Lot of local stall with local food. Worth the trip. Strongly recommended if you are going to Xiamen.

Another tourist spot. Lots of food stalls and souvenir shops. Convenient to get there by bus. Beach is just across the road. Go with an empty stomach and be prepared to squeeze.

The place is just full of food stalls. Nothing much of the old village is presented. Near seaside. Too touristic.

It is another Zhongshan Walking street selling almost the same stuff. There are no malls here if you are looking for clean toilet. Do try the waffles made by 2 Canadians who have been here for 4 years. One even working in singapore before. Their...More

Just visited this recreation village after lunch. Tonnes of interesting food stalls on offer. Have you ever seen live sardines in a hot pot restaurant? If not, there are plenty on display. Friendly service and lots of action to be seen!
