Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Unlike many other places, you may not know when you have arrived at first. Drive until you see a temple on your left and park. You can walk up alongside the temple for a bit, but the views aren’t really awe-inspiring.

I go with Atlantis and the dive centre is wonderful with a good instructor following us and helping us during the dive. However the boat ride was very rough and the surge under water made me very sick. We were told manta rays should appear at the cleaning station every day except few days but i did not see any manta in the first 40 mins. Only at the last 5-10 mins the giagantic manta appear like a big 747 slowly gliding down to the reefs. The experience could be more wonderful if i hadn't have seasick. Apparently the strong currents and rough waves are the norms around P. Penida.

We have booked a diving trip from Padang Bai, two dives at Nusa Penida with Manta Point our first destination.

The conditions were very good, sea pretty calm and the trip across the channel smooth.

This dive point is pretty busy with at least 8 boats already there, there was a number of divers in the water, however the site is pretty large so you can find your own spot. After 20 minutes of nervous drifting and thinking that we will be unlucky on the day a flock of 7 mantas went straight in front of us. Two more spotting of a pair of mantas and the dive was over. Majestic place.

It was a pretty rough day when we went on our excursions to different snorkeling sites and these waters can be scary....
However still lots of boats going out in hope of that fabulous view of the Mantas, again its not 100% you will get to see them, wished we had seen more but visibility wasnt very good and extremely choppy.

To have seen manta swimming in the wild. Manta Point is a cleaning station for these impressive aliens. The chances of seeing them are, we were told, 95%. And as soon as we got into the water there they were. Just amazing. Worth knowing - the water is very choppy and at around 21 degrees slightly bracing. There are also lots of other boats and divers doing the same as you - this is a spot for both divers and snorkelers. But it doesn’t feel crowed (yet! Wait until Penida gets more popular). And seeing the divers deep below and their mesmerising bubbles of air drift upwards is pretty cool.

Brilliant place to dive. We saw 4 or 5 giant manta rays swimming within an arm’s length of us. Delighted beyond words!

Started the tour from the yellow bridge between Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan and headed up the channel towards Nusa Penida. The entire way from Yellow Bridge to Manta Bay was just littered with rubbish not just on the surface but beneath as well. When we jumped in at Manta point to swim with the mantas I was shocked as far as the eye could see was just rubbish. I felt sorry for the manta rays and the sea life such a shame as the islands and cliff faces are so picturesque but the ocean is trashed! Words can’t describe how trashed and disgusting the water is I’m surprised any sea creature could survive living in this. Indonesian government really needs to take control of this problem they are facing. We won’t ever do this tour again. We were disgusted!

This dive location is up there with the best I have ever done. Perhaps fortunate that there were so many mantas around when we went but it was an incredible spectacle. 30+ mantas around the cleaning station, as soon as we descended 3 began to swim curiously up to us. An amazing experience that I would throughly recommend if you have the opportunity. There are lots of other things to see here too including stingray and octupus.

I dived with Dive Concepts in Nuse Lembongan who I would also recommend.
