Our favourite beach in south Bali. You can swim and surf here. 100K for an hour of surfing (great deal). Lots of local restaurants beach front. Soft white sandy beach. There are rocks at low tide. Not crowded at all. Short walk down stairs from our resort, Lajoya. This was our favourite beach we came across on our time in south Bali.

Another beautiful beach in Bali that you must visit when you're in Bali. The wave is rather strong and it's good for surfing. But, if you don't surf, you can still swim in the beachside. To reach to the beach, you must go thru stairs. There are also small restaurants that provides western and local food.

Great beach for surfers.Lots of boards to rent. White coral sand, not so easy to walk on as steep camber. Several good eating spots.

I got my Gojek moto to drop me off at the viewpoint area so that I could take some photos overlooking the beach. Then I walked back to the concrete steps that take you down to the beach. No entry fee. Long enough beach that it provides plenty of space to either find a quiet spot or rent a sunlounger around the warungs and surf schools.
There are waves further offshore which are enjoyed by surfers but I wouldn't recommend for swimming due to the power of the shore dumpers.
I was happy to chill here at one of the warungs for a while and enjoy the sea views.
One positive of note was there was no local taxi mafia operating here so I was able to book Gojek moto to pick me up.

I wish I had Balan-gone to another beach! There wasn’t much to do here and the beach Restaurants didn’t seem very exciting. It’s in a pretty remote location and I think there are nicer beaches elsewhere. Maybe come here if you’re into surfing and as the waves seemed good (but I don’t know what I’m talking about there).

Stayed nearby place and looked for a beach for kids swimming. Beach was full of trash and water was full of trash as well. No one cleaned the beach. Looked pretty rundown place. We noticed only one surfer and few people around.

Loved this beach. We had to pay 2k IDR upon arrival, which was okay. Beach was pretty empty, definitely not crowded like the one we’ve been before in Jimbaran. Had a nice walk until the far end of the beach, and we got two very comfortable beach beds for 50k IDR in total. The lady who owned the beds was extremely friendly and welcoming. We also got two coconuts for 25k IDR each. They were huge, full with nice sweet coconut water, and with a lot of coconut meat to eat. They were incredibly good. Spent the afternoon there, had an amazing sunset just in front of us. Before leaving, we paid 5k IDR to use the toilet of the nearest warung. It was clean, well kept, locked with a key so only those who pay the fee can use it. It was a great experience altogether. Plus, an amazing spot for Instagram photos!

Pantai Balangan, situated on the western part of South Bali. You can reach this place by car, they have public parking spaces. Apparently there are 2 parking spaces, one on the cliff, the other one is near the beach. The one on the cliff has a magnificent view to the ocean. You can access the beach by going down the stairs.

Once at the beach you can rent beach chairs and order drinks. We had a great time at the beach as there were not too many people around and also NO street vendors. During the rainy season, a lot of debris (wood) and rubbish will wash ashore which can make the experience less fun. Please keep in mind that this is a public beach where locals are trying their best to keep the beach clean without any funding from the government.

Please beware of monkeys as this arra is still considered a “wild” habitat so those wooden debris that wash ashore will come in handy to scare them away. Keep your belongings in a bag.

It is a good place if you like to chase sunsets. When we left the areaa, there were a lot of people (cars, motorcycles) heading to the beach and cliff to catch the sunset.
