I was amazed at the stone masonry when I visited Puma Punku. The way they made such precision cuts in the rocks is amazing. Some are perfect angles and beyond logic. They also have huge rocks that they lifted and moved around which would be...More

The Puma Punku part of the complex was awe-inspiring. It was truly marvellous to be able to spend so much time in this part of Tiahuanaco. There is a lot of civic and domestic construction, all of which tell a significant story and all of...More

Good hike but definitely need sunblock and a hat. Took a taxi from the city and spend all afternoon walking the ruins. Would recommend getting a tour guide since lost signs are worn down due to age.

This area of ruins still holds a few mysteries. Namely "How did they get these giant piece of rock here?" and "How did they make such precision cuts and highly polish the stones?" No doubt you'll be combing your visit to Puma Punku with a...More

It is the best site EVER! This was my #1 bucket list item and it did not disappoint. It's sad that 90% of the people who go to Tiawancu drive right by and don't go here. DON'T miss it.

On our recently concluded trip to South America including Peru, Bolivia and Chile, Pumapunku would go down as the most frustrating yet intriguing. Frustrating because no one knows why this place was even built and the ruins and artefacts excavated are all over the shop....More

To see this site with your own eyes is unnerving. To think that these granite blocks have been laying here since Lake Titicaca overwhelmed this area, maybe 12,000 years ago, is just crazy to imagine. The engineering and shaping is just so perfect, that even...More

This has some of the most unique prehistoric architectural components I have ever seen. It starts with the H-Blocks and continues all around the site. Tiwanaku is definitely more refined and restored, but Puma Punku just sparks so many questions. Go early and if your...More
