    Excellent for Soccer enthusiasts
We visited during a weekday. There is a museum with displays honoring Brazilian soccer greats and history. For an additional fee, you get to experience scoring a goal on the pitch (actually a side pitch not the actual football pitch), getting a medal, and giving a press conference (simulated). Enjoyed the experience. Gift shops are pricey but have nice mementos for purchase

Fantastic once in a lifetime experience
Fantastic one in a lifetime experience, with an excellent and interesting museum. The staff was very helpful. the only minus was that it was a pity that, offering for a price the opportunity to kick a penalty in the pitch with a goalkeeper provided, it's only about a penalty kicked in a smaller goal just outside the rectangular, what a pity.

    Fantastic Experience
We initially did the tour of the stadium with the gate for this being conveniently located at the bottom of the ramp of the station. The tour itself was ok, probably 4 out of 5 stars. It is a self guided tour which has pros and cons. You could take things at your own pace but on the flip side there is a lot of reading to do. We wanted to buy tickets for the match the same week but annoyingly the ticket office is located all the way round the other side of the stadium. We managed to get two tickets at a reasonable price without too much fuss, although you will need ID to purchase if a foreign visitor. The match itself was a great experience, being right in the middle of the passionate fans. We left the game a few minutes early to catch the train back to Ipanema which was easy. Would recommend to any football enthusiast.

Travel to Rio for my bday, Maracana stadium was our first stop, it did not disappoint, I highly recommend. Get you ticket/s ahead with skip the line really helped facilitating our entrance.

The worst stadium tour I've ever been. There is no guide at all. They just let you in, following a "circuit", in 5 areas, with no guides, with just a few information written in the signs.

The museum with shirts, balls and etc, very poor. The only highlight is to be able to seat in the seats of the stadium. I am used to go to Corinthians Stadium tour, Athletico Paranaense, Estádio Nacional de Brasilia.

They are all completely different, much better. Also the tour in Maracana is very expensive for what is offered. Honestly, the stadium deserves a much better experience. I do not recomend to any one, unless you want to loose money and time.

Came on Wednesday in May for a tour so incredibly quiet. Someone tried to rob us outside, its a very dodgy area!!! Stadium was ok. If you like football and that sort of thing. There are people selling well overpriced tickets (original ticket price R$30, upsold at R$250) in and around the stadium.
People stand on seats during the entire match and let off fireworks during the game. Mood of crowd very happy and ebullient.

Maybe is me but ....I was expecting more for some reason! With the amount of history that this stadium and Brasil have in football didn't make it justice.

Great way to see the stadium and get on the field. Would have been better with more guidance from guides, etc., you're kind of left to figure things out on your own.
