We had planned to walk but as we approached Warren Gorge the weather set in - 'tarmac' tourism ensued with drive to Proby's Grave, Buckaringa Scenic Drive & Lookout as well as Simmonston - the town that never was.

Beautiful place to free camp or park your van, and the hiking trail was very well marked. An easy, but long hike. Views at the entrance to the gorge were the best, everything after was loke an anti-climax.

Camped in late November. Got some brief sightings of rock wallabies. Also, unfortunately saw a fox which is known to predate on the endangered wallabies. There was literally nobody else there in the area we were camping as it was the end of the season.

We visited at 10:30am and walked the trail clockwise (up through the gorge then back along the ridge). This worked well for us as we seemed to have the fun behind us most of the way. We completed the 5.2km loop walk in 90 minutes....More

The road out from Quorn is sealed until the entrance to the Gorge and the dirt track is ok for non 4WD vehicles. The rocks are superb and the creek bed is a lovely walking area. So peaceful and quiet!!
