About
Bricktown, just east of Oklahoma City’s downtown business district, is the city’s original warehouse and distribution center turned entertainment district. You can go shopping, drink at a bar, dine at one of the many restaurants, and stroll along the Bricktown River Walk Park at your own pace. You can also catch a baseball game at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark or have fun on the sands of Bricktown Beach on summer days. The area is home to a plethora of public art, museums, and galleries, making it one of Oklahoma City’s most vibrant arts districts and a great attraction year-round. – Tripadvisor

- Teardrop Trailer TravelerUnited States754 contributionsBricktownBricktown is an area near downtown Oklahoma city with restaurants, bars, shops, and entertainment. There is a pretty little canal which winds its way through the southwest corner, and boat rides of the canal are available. I went with a group during a midweek evening. There area was busy, but no overly crowded. We did a wine tasting and got dinner at a steakhouse. I would imagine it's a good spot to enjoy the nightlife on a weekend.Visited March 2023Written 22 March 2023
- Grover RPensacola, Florida18,062 contributionsOKC's Downtown Entertainment DistrictBricktown is Oklahoma's Downtown Entertainment District. It is an historic part of the city where old warehouse buildings were transformed into new restaurants, bars and hotels and where new structures like a baseball stadium and canal were built to cement the tourist district experience. I stayed here in the Hampton Inn overlooking the stadium and ate dinner here at Mickey Mantle's Steakhouse. I had intended to see the nightlife as well; however, a severe thunderstorm storm and tornado altered that idea. I did get up the next morning and walk the district and canal as well as eat lunch across from the stadium at Fuzzy's Taco.Visited April 2023Travelled soloWritten 22 May 2023
- Nyberg21Western Springs, Illinois5 contributionsOK gems! What a surprise! Our wedding weekend trip was a real treat! Who knew OKCity had such a lovely time planned for us. W e stayed at 21C Museum hotel which was a great choice and highly recommended for an authentic art museum look-around 24 hours a day and a uniquely decorated room to stay in! Our meal at Mary Eddy's, restaurant in the building of hotel, was exceptional, too! Food was a real work of art, tasty and the wine pairing was great, too. All of the staff from check-in to serving in the restaurant were kind and very knowledgable. We took some time and went to the National Cowboy Museum and were surprised at the art show there and museum features. The Brickyard part of town was a nice change of scenery as we walked the riverfront and ate at Charleston! Pass up Toby Keith's for this gem on the river! And finally, a time of reflection at the OKC Memorial. This museum will leave you with a tear in your eye and a new appreciation/reminder of the great country we live in!Visited May 2023Written 7 June 2023

Good vibe down there with lots of young people, food outlets, bars and a canal. Well worth the walk to have a look or grab some food or a coffeeVisited May 2023Travelled soloWritten 10 June 2023

- DavigetaSaint Louis, Missouri1,091 contributionsAn enjoyable visit. We spent part of our morning in Bricktown. We likely should have stayed longer, but we enjoyed the tine we had there. The Chickasaw Ballpark was of course closed, but we able to get a look inside by going to the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame/Jim Thorpe museum. We also visited the OKC Dodgers gift shop, and we saw a part of the canal walk area. Overall, very nice. Probably more exciting later in the day, but well-worth a visit.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 October 2023

Our tour guide was great, but there wasn’t much she can say to keep everyone entertained. Brick town is a great concept and the new food truck area will help bring more people in.Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 16 October 2023

We loved the canal ride via artafloatokc.com at Brickopolis! Our boat captain did a fantastic job at explaining Oklahoma City history as we went down the canal and back.

Rode through the canal which I recommend - its fun. Lots of restaurants line the canal, we didn't eat at any of those. I was expecting more as far as shops along the way. Artsy stuff to see. Not really for little kids. I prefer San Antonio River Walk which is more beautiful.

We visited on a Tuesday afternoon, not many people there. We had lunch at Bourbon Cafe it was good, fried catfish and hush puppies were good, hot and fresh but they served it with old cold fries.

One of the best River walks in America according to USA Today! It didn’t disappoint whatsoever with a great variety of shops, restaurants, family activities, and nightlife including Mickey Mantle’s. In addition, the minor league ballpark is part of the district (I think) which added to the flavor creating more sizzle to the district..

Every one said “this is the up and coming place to be in OKC.” There are a lot of hotels within walking distance and a handful of bars and restaurants in the vicinity, several of which are on the “river walk.”
It might have been because we were in town on a Monday- Wednesday but it seems quite a few of the bars/ restaurants only open at 4 and some are only Th-Su. The river walk itself is a man made canal but really it’s just a few hundred feet with a boat you can go on but you won’t see anything you can’t see on foot.
This area has not sidewalk cafes, coffee shops or stores and things seem to close down around 10ish. It’s worth a quick walk around if you’re here but don’t go out of your way to stop here.

We are thinking of going here Sunday night into Monday (Labor Day). Would we miss out on the weekend action staying Sunday night as opposed to Saturday night?

We stayed at Bricktown for a week on vacation from England and the only busy nights were Friday and Saturday nights, on which the bars and restaurants charge a cover entry fee.
During the week was very quite with some of the bars closed on a Monday and Tuesday.

Expect it to be busy for a New Year's Eve celebration. Other things in the area include the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial and Museum. I personally think this is a must see while in OKC. It is the best museum/ memorial I have ever experienced. It is a moving and very informative, immersive experience that takes you through the days and weeks immediately following the bombing, including the story of how they put together the case and captured and prosecuted Timothy Mcvey. A must see while in town!
BTW, I have never felt unsafe in OKC. Finally, I can't remember the name of the lake outside of town (maybe a 20 minute drive) but it's a very nice area with a number of good restaurants right on the water. If you have an extra evening, having dinner there makes for a very pleasant evening, with great food.

Kd's is basically come in what you are wearing. We were casual in jeans while other people were in their Sunday best. The taxi boat on the canals is nice. I enjoyed seeing the land run monument (from the taxi or land). Lots of pubs and places with patios on the canals, mini golf ect. I'm a history junkie and can't wait to see the cowboy museum and museum of osteology. Just depends on what kind of things you want to see.
