As someone who is terrified of heights and one way roads I was expecting nothing but fear! Lovely drive with amazing views !! Highly recommend if you are a confident driver. Well worth it!

You would not expect to find such a road in the Highlands - rather in Austrian (or Swiss) Alps. Alas, the weather was horrible, and we could not enjoy much of the great vista. If you plan to got there by car, be advised this...More

We travelled over the road twice which is not good for the faint hearted. We saw three stags on the side of the road which was worth it.

A must do experience in Westeros. Breathtaking views and hairpin bends. Adrenalin rush for motor bike enthusiasts but easily driven by all ages

As far as roads go it's a good one. If you arent driving there are fantastic views, if you are driving it's best to keep your eyes on the road.

Always a favourite drive. A bit slower than usual today due to French Top Gear filming on the road. Needs a lot of look ahead and courtesy to ensure best use of passing places is made. Make sure you return via the longer route north...More

I first drove this road just one week after passing my driving test, when there were few barriers and crumbling edges and double-declutching was required, so the road today is much improved, but still requires total concentration to navigate the narrow hairpins and gradient and...More

Amazing road to experience. First time we travelled up must admit to being a bit nervous. You need to have your wits about you, drive cautiously and certainly no speeding, although you get the odd idiot who will, Weather on the pass is very changeable...More

I was working in the area and had to travel this road from Lochcarron to Applecross. We named it the death road! The views are amazing but not for faint hearted drivers. ( you can take the coast road) .In bad weather a prayer helps...More

Sheildaig is lovely and has a good pub and restaurant. Applecross is lovely too but I think its not a good base, unless you like the hairy drive on a regular basis! We stayed in a lodge in Achintraid, just outside of Kishorn... More
