We like visiting state Capitols. It's a great way to learn the history of the state. This particular capital falls in the middle of the pack. When you visit there are three things to take in: Exterior look, interior design and museum display. The Capitol...More

We enjoyed a short walk around the Georgia State Capitol. The gold dome was beautiful. However, nearby parking was very expensive and not worth the 10 minute walk around the grounds.

I love visiting Capitols in different states. It was nice to see some Representatives of color displayed in their halls. I don't see that offer...especially in southern states which I'm from. This was a nice clean well-maintained Capitol.

The capital building itself is impressive with its Georgia gold dome and marble floors. It can be a real history lesson and during days when congress is in session, it is very exciting.

As far as I am aware, it is closed at weekends. Normal hours are Mon - Fri 9am to 5pm. We also needed identification as well to get in, so don't forget to bring this with you.
