The archeological site takes you back and you learn a bit of the the culture then. It is an active site with some restoration of the artifacts. The size of the site makes it ideal when there are no crowds as photo opportunities rapidly disappear....More

Very well worth visiting. A lot less crowded than Knossos and you can go for a dip in the nearby beach afterwards. Before you go around the site you need to read the leaflet you are given with the ticket and the information available in...More

Nice place for a short escape, we just thought that it would be bigger. If you are close to Malia, go and have a look.

We spent an hour or so here and found it interesting to see an active archeological dig site. The ruins are fascinating showing Minoan architecture still standing. Would perhaps recommend having a tour guide as there is not much information given or on hand. Definitely...More

amazing example of Greek historic site. this one on Crete is ideal as it is tucked away from the usual tourist routs so you can enjoy it more IMHO. It looked almost deserted to us which we preferred very much.

Beautiful site, mostly original and great place for walking and looking at some real history. Unfortunately the only information about the site (that we could find) was in the few buildings by the entrance and a map. The tickets had a map on the back...More

It is less impressive than Knossos, but just because you have a lot less people, you can enjoy and explore the site much more. Maybe, in the end, you will like it even more than Knossos.

If you’ve only got an hour or so then this is a lovely little site to see a Minoan palace. Not too busy so easy to roam about and helpful assistants who can explain things for you.
