Of course, the Duomo is the main attraction in Monreale. But it would be a huge mistake to miss the Chiostro. Very peaceful (far, far fewer tourists) and beautiful in its own right, with an interesting history. This is about history as well as art,...More

Beautiful. You can purchase one ticket to enter Duomo and gardens of Benedittini together and is cheaper. Must see both.

The Duomo was free -so was a little surprised to be told it was 6 euros each.Must be something special for 6 euros! But unfortunately it wasn't - a nice calm space with a large cloister, nice columns & a fountain.Nothing wrong -but in comparison...More

The Cathedral is rich and ornate, the cloister is simpler and relaxing. It’s the right place to chill after looking at the golden bible pictured. It is a magical place that does the soul good to visit, whether you are a believer or an atheist....More

We paid extra when visiting Monreale to see the cloister, gardens, and rooftop. There are many types of columns surrounding the cloister and it was a very peaceful place.

Visit the cathedral for free and then pay to enter the cloisters. All of it is very beautiful and has a lovely feel. The cathedral will take your breath away and the cloisters will calm your soul

Amazing, incredible, beautiful: 12th Century Norman/Arabic cathedral. The inside is covered in Byzantine-style mosaics: the apse, all the walls ... perfectly preserved. Not to be missed.

Walking around the courtyard, that alone is awesome. There are sculptures on the top of every column and stripes of beautiful designs. Then there are rooms off the courtyard that are filled with amazing art and artifacts. Sculptures, chalices, paintings, tapestries all from nearby churches...More
