Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you ever visit the inland of Norway this is a must see museum, especially if you want to learn about way of life and nature in Norway.

This is a national forestry museum of Norway with a national obligation to serve information about wildlife, the woods and hunting history of Norway.

Personally I think this is one of the best museums in Norway.

The entry fee is also quite affordable by Norwegian standards.

You see all the Norwegian wildlife on display and there is a nice aquarium with the Norwegian spices of fish.

Well worth your while and very educational.

Thumbs up.

For 2nd time this year I visited Norsk Skogsmuseum and I enjoyed every minute.

The museum is perfectly sized and the various sections are well displayed and with good introductions. It tells the visitors about the history of the forest and about the work in the forest.
On 2nd floor I found the most interesting part when I was introduced to the research into trees and plants.
I can only recommend visitors to Elverum to spend time at Norsk Skogsmuseum

Chose to stop here on the way to Oslo from Trysil and we were pleasantly surprised just how good this museum is. Loads to see and all in English as well as Norwegian. Plenty to do outside also, particularly the walk between the sister museum over the river via an island.

We stopped here on day when travelling in the area. It is a nice museum with a lot of information about the forest, rivers, logging and fishing in this area. A lot of interesting information and displays. Great place for small children and school trips too.

I have visited this museum twice, once in winter time, once in summer, I would say both are beautiful! I enjoyed the outdoor space in the woods a lot as well as indoor exhibition. The exhibition display is massive, very informative on Norwegian's fishing, hunting and forestry industries. Second time i took my 2 year old with me, I also saw 2 groups of young children doing forest school there, a great place to visit for this purpose too.

Very informative displays of creatures of the forests and lakes including elk, bears and wolves! Historical crafts of the forest and cinematic and model information! There are three floors with different themes including an aquarium in a modern building with a cafe/restaurant overlooking the river Glama! We crossed over the bridge to the island in the river and a further bridge to the Glomdalsmuseet! Well worth a visit!

I visited this museum some 4 years (not June this year)ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. To see the buildings and farming/ Forestry equipment of and age gone by, was refreshing, particularly with the overall presentation keeping you interested at every turn! Will possibly visit again next year (2017)!
