Lovely location far from the maddening crowd. With stunning views and best of all no-one there to disturb on dawn shoot.

Don't forget that if you take the opportunity to visit the Osprey viewing point you can go down to the lake (when the eggs have hatched) and have a good chance of seeing the osprey fishing. This year there are three eggs in the nest and if three chicks emerge the parents will be kept very busy fishing and there... More

We drove round the Lake as well as taking a stroll. The views are fabulous and on a clear day, Scafell Pike could be seen. We were lucky with the weather as we had no rain during the day.

A lovely lake great for relaxing and having fun with the family. Big open spaces for the children to play. Bring own seats ect for picnic.

We stayed at The Pheasant at Bassenthwaite and had a pleasant walk to the lake from the hotel, as well as visiting a local nature reserve.

We came across this walk quite by chance, lovely waterfall, lovely people to tell us all about the Osprey sitting on her next. We were fortunate enough to see a red squirrel too.

Phenomenal natural beauty. Such a peaceful experience sitting by the lake mid morning with the fields and sheep behind it. A really beautiful place!
