Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was quite surprised at how much fun this is. We were recommended to visit here but had no idea how much it is to ride up and down the dunes. You would think this would be a protected area but the sands seem ever-shifting and repair themselves.

We came here on a tour - our driver waited in the car park for us but the last thing he said was ‘watch out for pickpockets’

Sure enough, as we were sliding down the hills on boards, one of the kids (who was very sweet) suggested that I
Leave my bag at the top
Of the hill. It did have $1000 usd in it and I said no it’s ok. He insisted. I instead no. I’ll leave it at that.

You have been warned !!!!!!!

The place is run by Aggressive police and locals who want to try and scam you at every turn. Shouldn’t the police be protecting tourists against scam, theft etc? Seems not. Very corrupt. Very disappointing. And don’t even get me started on the trash here. Yuck. Disgusting.

We did as a part of our sunrise tour. So the sun wasn’t too high and were told the sand dunes turn much redder when the sun is high in the sky. I have grown up in an island so I didn’t think this was amazing.

We spent about 10 minutes walking in them before getting back to the jeep.

À dump indeed as per previous reviews. A nothing special sand dune with plastic litter, face masks etc literally everywhere... Don't bother. Quad bike up and over the White dune and by the lake much more worthwhile.

Pile of rubbish, literally. Don't waste your time here, drop a pin anywhere on maps and it will be a better place to watch a sunset. The place is just piled high of rubbish. It would be a public dump in other countries. Horrible.

These dunes are rubbish, literally. I've seen less trash on a rubbish dump. White sand dunes much better and no rubbish. Couldn't think of a worse place to watch sunset.

In advance, I thought this would be very touristic and therefore become a dissapointing experience. But in the end , it was totally worth it. We were almost alone, the weather was good and we found a great spot to take pictures. Definitely visit the red sand dunes when being in Mui Ne!

We started in Mui Ni as thats where our Bus from Dalat ended up, SoTaxi to Dunes was cheap, But actually staying at Phan Thiet, So around 1000000 Dong in total £30 for 4
The dunes do have a few places worth walking to, Where theres nice patterns in the sand, Plus places where the dune top falls over the sharp edge, Good for pics, or rolling down, If silly enough
From what we saw, Renting stupid bits of plastic to sledge down, is a total waste.
Litter POLLUTION, is notable, Bloody shame really, plus lots of old face masks.
Is it worth £30btaxi from Phan thiet,,, Yes if visiting Mui Ne at same time,,, tad pongy fish though

I love this place on the trip to Muine, sand slides were funny in my first experience. Put more rubbish bins and the tourist should pays more attention and be awareness to protect the environment.
