Worth a visit. But cut your expectations to proper size. Those are dunes - OK. The sand is red - OK. The place can be crowded. There are a lot of local vendors and people offering the plastic to go down the dunes. The views...More

I have never seen before red dunes so i was quite excited. It is small teritory but enough to have fun and feel very delicate sand. If You want U can stay there till sunset but a lot of people do the same.

Nevertheless are considered the worst, I’ve enjoyed this ones more than the white dunes. The red colour is quite particular. Quite close to Mui Ne so it is worth a visit.

We spontaneously went up the red dunes to watch the sun set. It was nice but very very crowded. People who know bigger sand dunes in general will not be impressed, especially considering how many people are on them....

The red sand dunes were great to visit. We really enjoyed. We went in late afternoon but decided not to stay until sunset because there’s nothing to do. We did rent a sled to slide down the dunes, but it didn’t really work which was...More

Awesome experience! Should be on the top of everyone's list when visiting Vietnam. Sand is a lil moist and smaller plot of sand than the white dunes. Plenty of food street vendors across the street. only about 3-5 high hills. No atv or Jeep's over...More

We chose to go to the red sand dunes at sunset. We were not alone. It’s a beautiful view, but expect a lot of people.

Apart from sand and a good view, I don't see the effort on why you should go all the way up to the top. The sense of disappointment after.

Is this the only place that you wish to visit? I have not seen public buses plying that route. As mentioned by other reviewers, various forms of transport including taxis are available but the most popular is the 4 hour jeep... More

No you can easily do it on your own. Renting a motorbike or one of the jeep tours is probably a the best and most affordable way. I think our tour started at 4.30 or 5.00 am.

The dunes are not that close together but not a great distance either. I saw a lot of hotels along the way coming from Phan Theit to the red dunes.
