Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went today with a friend. We sat in the courtyard, in between old beer barrels. On one of the beer barrels wa balanced a life sized whale gun. During a slight gust of wind, it blew over and only just missed my friend. Had it hit him, it would have been a serious injury.
We challenged the Manager about this and was shown a complete lack of interest, almost as though it was our fault for sitting there. When we asked him his name, he refused to give it to us. Quite amazing!! Will not be going there again!

We sincerely regret the distress caused by the unfortunate incident involving the wind knocking over our former TV prop harpoon, which was used as decoration on our courtyard.
The prop in question is constructed from soft foam rubber, making it highly unlikely to cause any injury. Nonetheless, we acknowledge the situation and have promptly taken action by removing the prop until we can securely reposition it.
It is crucial to emphasise that this isolated event was entirely unintentional and in no way indicative of the quality of our business, the services we provide, or the excellence of our products. We take immense pride in delivering exceptional experiences to all our customers, which is evident from the numerous five-star ratings we have received.
We deeply regret that this incident has overshadowed your overall experience with us. Please be assured that we are fully committed to continuously enhancing the safety and enjoyment of our brewery for all our valued visitors.
We understand your decision not to return based on this occurrence, but we hope you may reconsider, considering this was a rare incident primarily influenced by unpredictable weather conditions beyond our control. We hope perhaps you will give us another opportunity to serve you and provide the outstanding experience we are known for.
Thank you for sharing your feedback, and please do not hesitate contact us if you have any further concerns.

Fantastic location with even better beer. Came back from Australia to see family and made it a must to visit this brewery and it did not disappoint! Couldn’t think of a better spot for knock-off beers on Friday. Might even have to make it back there today!!

Can't beat a cold one on a hot day, eh? Thanks for your review - we do try our best, and when we know we've got it right, it's very rewarding - especially when it's from someone from the other side of the world! Glad you could pay us a visit, and hope you do make it back for round 2!

This stands head and shoulders above other tap rooms that I have visited. A range of well kept beers, nice surroundings and comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. Inside is decked out with loads of interesting paraphernalia. Recommend a visit

A rare visit from "up north" to Cranborne, to start a walking holiday, we had half a day to acclimatise (!) and chose to have a little amble to this brewery! It turned out to be an experience not to be missed and, be warned, consumed twice as much as we intended! Beer and banter excellent and loved the odd intrusion from the possessed radio and other pub clutter! Watch out for the banned word of the day, plus list of unpopular beverages!! Mecca!

Thanks for your generous comments - and I'm glad our Southern beer seems to have compared well against your Northern pints! Hopefully we'll see you again when you are next on your rambles!

We were holidaying in the area and after checking the website we visited the Sixpenny brewery on a Wednesday as it said it was open from 12.00 noon to 6.00pm. We arrived just before 2pm to find it was closing. We explained to the man behind the bar who was very understanding and apologetic and served us with a pint of 6D Best and also 2 x two pint takeaway containers of Gold and IPA and a branded Sixpenny beer glass. The bar area is great with good music playing in the background. However the main reason we visited was for the beer. We had a couple of pints of 6D Best whilst enjoying an evening meal at The Fox & Goose in nearby Coombe Bissett. We said how much we liked it and the Landlord told us about the brewery. This brewery produces some excellent beers, I only wish we did not live so far away!

Picked up a 4 pinter of Cranborne Chaser for £10 on a Monday between 5pm and 6pm - a very tasty drink indeed. Between us, it went down too nicely so should have bought 8 pints!

Don't get to the Tap Room very often now, having moved to Dorch. a while back. But was back there on Saturday, enjoying the delights of the IPA. Of course I got some takeaways. There was an unopened two pint bottle left that I opened and consumed a short while ago (i.e. 5 days old). Still tasted delicious. You won't get a cleaner fresher pint than Sixpenny. Well done guys!!
