A bus load of women attended this and had a great time. The markets have great food and is very busy. Visit the Co operative dairy and the church, nearby.

We spent a morning here on our way back from the Bay of Islands. It was too short, its a charming village and we have committed to coming back on a weekend when it has farmers markets based on our discussions with the locals.

Excellent selection of locally grown & produced produce & products e.g fruit & veges, cheeses, breads, plants. Great community atmosphere. Selection of cafes. Suggest parking down a side street as traffic & parking on main thoroughfare can be congested.

Nice setting. Some lovely shops. The market is ok, but I certainly wouldn’t travel from afar to visit it. There are many better makers in Auckland. Friendly village atmosphere.

This is a quaint little village with boutique style shops and a lovely boutique cinema. Food places are excellent for lunch, dinner or refreshement. Exceedingly busy on Saturdays because of markets so expect delays. Well worth a meander around this heavenly place.

Excellent Saturday market with food stalls. The dumpling and rice paper roll stalls are worth trying. Plenty of fresh produce to buy direct from farmers. Take some cooler bags to store your produce. Make sure you check out the chocolate shop in the village square...More

We stayed over at the Matakana motel which is only a stone throw away. We visited the market at around 830am, at a time where mostly the locals are the patronage of the market. As time goes by, human traffic build up, mostly are visitors....More

This is a pretty, very small upmarket village worth a short stop for a potter around the few shops and deli and / or a refreshment or bite to eat. There is also a little cinema. A good permanent set up for the Saturday farmers...More
