Went for lunch...quiet rainy Monday. Were told by management we could not sit in a warmer area as it "was reserved for locals" In the hour we were there nobody else came. Truly disgusting ,inhospitable and rude. Our waitress was so embarrassed. Renown Cornish hospitality ...CERTAINLY NOT. Portreath Arms is where we were made most welcome ........we were visitors from Somerset.

Food was absolutely amazing, staff weren’t only on form with service, but made my children of 1 and 9 feel very very welcome. The pub and staff are keeping within Covid-19 guidelines, however, refrained from bullying into adhering to ‘guidelines’. I Would strongly recommend holiday makers to venture in for food, and/or a drink. Just wish I had found this place at the beginning of our holiday, and not the last day!

Booked last-minute and as the end of the season was expecting it to be good from reviews but was really great. Yummy yummy food-definitely recommend the mussel starter. Friendly locals. Great value. And dogs welcome. Hope we have time to go again before we leave.

Staff were incredible, every single one of them who served us on Bank holiday Sunday (30/08/20) was extremely polite, friendly and had a real homey touch. Hard to find service like that these days, absolutely lovely. Dinning area was beautiful, spaced out for COVID structure but still so much room to accommodate. Very comfy benches along most the inside which we LOVED. Food... I don’t even know where to start! Don’t think I’ve ever eaten such good quality food at a ‘pub’, it was 5* in my eyes. Portions were more than enough! Yet plenty of salad and veggies!!:) Very very good value for the prices!! Hardly any wait for starter, or between starter and main and quick to clear the table to enjoy the conversation with space. Me and my partner had a wonderful evening here and were gutted it was our last night! (Although it was made special thanks to this find) Would have returned more than once. Will definitely be visiting again! Thank you staff!!!

A very nice pub staff were great , meal was very nice Spoilt by the drunk at the bar mocking our accent. My wife took offence and to be honest be was lucky I didn't hit him. There is no need for that sort of behaviour it spoilt our visit
