Sometimes you see photos and videos from a great famous beach but the reality can surpass any imagination.
I came morning at middle september around 9am and I was alone in this beach. No wind, not hot no cold. All perfectly balance and the sea probably in the best shape can be. The water was super soft and shallow like a pool. It was crystal clear and like a mirror. Inside and outside soft sand that make message to your feet. No rocks pebble here. And the view.. wow. The rocks and wild reminds you a thailand island.
The water inside was a bit cold or refreshing and it was sigh that it is very clean. The swimming there was incredible and very relax.
Overall, probably the best beach i have visit all around. All in perfect mode. Water, view, clean, no wind, safe, beautiful. Must visit

We stayed here at a mini market with our 9m RV, two kids, a dog and a grandpa:) We called and were allowed to stay for the night. Friendly ppl!!! 200m walk from beach.
This is how camping should be! No crowded campsites, simple, nature, relaxed AND most of all: dog friendly!!!
What I generally appreciated about Greece and this place too:
a) showers everywhere
b) relaxed ppl
c) our big dog was warmly welcomed everywhere we went - no segragation into dog beach/no dog beach and hey guess what? Adults, kids, dogs shared the beach and it worked! Amazing! In fact this is what we experienced all through our high season 4 week trip through Slowenia, Albania and Greece. Thank you for that!
And I LOVED the sign in the nature reserve " please keep your dog close so it won't disturb the turtle nests". I think this is soooo fair! No LEASH req. if dog listens...keep him close...you know your dog and you are a responsible dog owner. Many other countries should be more relaxed and remember: it is not the dogs who ruin our planet.

This place was genuinely paradise on earth, but the overdevelopment of the area has destroyed the wonderful environmental context of the region. If you head that way today expect a stream of 4x4s and loud Americans from the nearby luxury resort, plus a concrete wilderness where once there were reeds, marshes and swallows…

Snorkeling is possible here, you see fish near the rocks.
Shade beside the mountains, else bring An umbrella. Nice place.

Voidokilia is one of the most beautiful and unique beaches we ever saw (and we’ve visited several Caribbean islands, The Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and other countries famous for their beaches).

The perfect horseshoe shape is one of Mother Nature’s wonders. The sand is fine and golden. The water is turquoise - and low close to the beach (kids), deep further out and near the cliffs (adults and snorkelers).

Before you go it’s worth noting…

You have to bring your own umbrella, towels, water and food
You must be prepared to drive on narrow roads for about 20 minutes
You should walk the whole beach from one end to the other to find YOUR favorite spot

Enjoy world class Voidokilia!!

This circular hike takes you to the Gialova Lagoon, round Voidokilia beach, up to the old castle, Paleokastro down via a precarious climb, Nestor's Cave and back along the beach.

Would recommend sturdy shoes, hat, sun-screen or cover up - we did meet people in flip flops, but no idea how they managed it!

We found the hike in Bradt's 'Greece:The Peloponnese', called 'Around the Cow's Belly' and the instructions were spot on...so if you're visiting the area and looking for a guide, would recommend.

It took us 2.5 hours and as it was July was rather hot...but with plenty of water it was fine.

A shallow lagoon, turquoise sea and fine white sand. Great views of the rocks and the old fortress towering over the beach. The fantastic views from the dunes and rocks above the beach. The only problem is the very narrow access road (and the last 400 meters on a sandy road), where passing the other car is quite a challenge.

This is a famous beach with many impressive photographs circulating in the internet. We discovered it lately and we have enjoyed it multiple times.

A couple of things to know though:
1. The beach is protected (Natura). This means this is NOT an organized beach. The sun is hot, so you need to bring your own umbrella, tent, etc.
2. There are nearby cafeterias if you want a beverage in driving distance.
3. The waters are shallow for the most part, which makes it safe for small kids, but some adults may not find it so enjoyable.

This was our last stop and the high point of our 50 mile circuit south from the Kyparissia Beach Hotel(including Fairytale Castle and Filiatra’s Eiffel Tower). This is a ½ mile world class beach in substance and beauty with a bounty of pure sand, crystal clear water and enclosed with bold yellow cliffs. In addition, a short but steep climb accesses the fenced archaeological site that contains the vaulted Tomb of Thrasimede dating to the Mycenaean Era (1680-1060 B.C), while on the far side, a long steep climb accesses Nestor’s Cave and a 13th-century Frankish fortress ruins.
We visited with the morning sun, parking along the sandy lane, avoiding the deep sandy overflow lot where only 4WD’s should go.

Voidokilia is easily accessible, very close to road and parking is located directly on the beach.
It is a short coastline with crystal turquoise water and pure golden fine sand, you don't need special shoes. Voidokilia is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It can be very crowded place during the season.

Last but not least, don't miss the sunset!!
