Passed many times and nothing wrong with statue but seems to have been placed on crossroads with little thought. Have just returned from an extended stay in Australia where such statues of local worthies give a great amount of information on their lives and connection...More

Everytime we pass him I feel sure that he is planning to cross the road and go and have a tipple in The Crowborough Cross pub. Statues don't come better than this one.

The statue is at the main intersection in the centre of town. He was a resident of the town from 1907 to 1930. He was also captain of the Crowborough Golf Club. He lived at Windlesham Manor until his death in 1930 and was buried...More
