Diciannove

Diciannove, Santa Cesarea Terme: Address, Diciannove Reviews: 3.5/5

About

Too expensive!
Aug 2016 • Family
The place is lovely. With a small child, the fun is guaranteed. Safest than the various beaches around, as are swimming pools with salt water. There is the baby pool, which is a charm. Perfect to entertain the kids. Me with a two year old son, I enjoyed seeing him play. The place is really a great idea. An inconvenience, costs are exaggerated. We talk about 50 euro a day! The restaurant does not offer much, but it is affordable for a quiet day and is not expensive.

Nice view and pools but unfriendly staff, and very expensive ( double comparing to a Nice beach club) for far to be unforgettable swimming pools...
Go a bit further on the coast!

The staff at front of house are ignorant, rude and behave as if they are on holiday and don't have to work. It cost 80E for 2 sunbeds and two umbrellas. Staff did not acknowledge or speak to me or offer any information about their facilities.

Overpriced not stilish swimming pools!
Jul 2014
Let's be straight: if you go to Otranto or Santa Cesarea why spending 10 euros for a chair (yes a chair) in front of a swimming pool made if white cement? Overlooking the sea yeas but there are plenty of beaches so go there! Restaurant so small and always full. Full of family with kids. A lovely infinity pool on the sea would have been nice but these...forget them!

Grotto swim followed by the evening stroll-the Struscio
Oct 2013 • Couples
As the sea road winds down to Santa Maria di Leuca- land's End- the coast turns steep and rocky. After a swim in the cave of Grotta Zinzulusa, filled with stalactites and stalagmites,we round the point at Galipoli, the beaches are white as salt and the sea comes in absurdly beautiful shades of violet and turquoise.
We wander through the white alleyways of the old town. Its the hour of the Struscio, the evening stroll. From a balcony, two teenagers who look like Britney Spears, rest their elbows on pillows as they look down pitilessly on the old folks strolling below.
We linger in the huge fish market, watching gentlemen at a stall eat raw sea urchins from the shell. Its getting late . time to begin the journey home.

Interesting idea
Aug 2013 • Couples
We went here on the first day of our holiday on a recommendation. It is an interesting place, a summer club on the seaside, which instead of offering access to the sea, has 3 outdoor pools. I found it a bit strange that Italians would prefer to be at a pool than the sea, but being recommended this place, we went. From the outset, there was some organisational foresight lacking. The car park was extremely crowded and difficult to access. We drove around for some time trying to get parking. Access to the summer club is through a shop, and the whole shop was filled with a crowd of people waiting to enter. When we reached the desk we were told there were no umbrellas or sun lounges left, so we were sold grass access tickets. The service at the desk wasn't very friendly and we weren't given any more information, even when I asked. I took a pamphlet from the desk instead, but it didn't say much.
Inside, we found a life guard to ask where we could sit and put our things. He walked us to the far corner of the club and pointed to some grass behind a low brick wall, where there were 2 volleyball nets. There were no lockers available, so we left our belongings here nervously and went to the pools. The pools are nice but very crowded. I couldn't see any difference between the 'relaxation' and 'high energy' pools. There were children and adults alike in all pools. There was no actual swimming in the high energy pool, and most of it was shallow. The spa jets of the relaxation pool were very soft, I would barely call them jets. When we returned to our towels, the grass had become very crowded and balls were flying around from people playing volleyball.
Overall, if you want to spend the day at a pool, this place is fine, if overpriced. But it missed the mark for me. I would have expected in such a beautiful location that they make an infinity pool overlooking the sea, or include a sea-pool. From where we were sitting, the view was not even of the sea, but of the busy car park. The club forbids bringing your own food or drink in, yet there is only one bar/restaurant in the whole club. The food here was good, but a bit expensive and very slow service. Also, for the entire club there was only one toilet.
