- IslaNew York228 contributionsVisit here, before you go to a distillery!I first visited the Cooperage 2 years ago and whilst I enjoyed the tour then, the slight changes they’ve made now makes it that much more enjoyable! The tour was just under an hour long. There’s a 5-10 minute video you watch at the beginning which introduces coopering and then the tour guide takes over, hosting the tour on the first floor above the workshop where you can see the experienced coopers and their apprentices. It’s a brilliant experience and a very informative tour. At the end, you’ve given a sample of their own whisky to enjoy. Clean toilets on site, plenty of parking and a small gift shop where you can buy up-cycled products amongst other souvenirs. Booking is a must, we visited on a Friday mid-morning in October and there was just under 20 of us on the tour.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 7 October 2023
- Michael M2 contributionsFantastic tour...Absolutely brilliant.... A huge thank you to the lovely ladies that did the tour, very knowledgeable and friendly, the real deal. A great experience to watch the casks come in, go through the process of repairing, checking and then tested by speedy 😂😂. If you know, you know. Highly recommend this attraction fantastic addition to a whisky tour, thank you.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 1 November 2023
- Lettie LostAustralia4 contributionsThe Speyside Cooperage a true gem.The Speyside Cooperage is a gem. Amongst many tacky tour options this experience was authentic and a truly lovely one! Sharon our guide was incredibly knowledgable the view of the working floor awesome and the gift shop filled with lovely reminders of a happy trip to Scotland far from the tacky offerings so widely available elsewhere. I can’t recommend a visit here highly enough.Visited August 2024Travelled soloWritten 5 August 2024
- Ali H16 contributionsA Must See in SpeysideA must see attraction when visiting the Speyside area. The team were very friendly and our guide Gillian very knowledgeable. The highlight was watching the skilled coopers at work. You are offered a dram of their own malt at the end of the tour.Visited September 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 12 September 2024
- KaperKateCalgary, Canada64 contributionsA must do for whisky fansReally interesting to learn about the importance of the barrels to the whole process. Fun to watch the Coopers in action from the viewing deck. Well-located if you are visiting distilleries or other sites (e.g., Balmoral) in Speyside. Dram at the end was a bonus - although I'd love to know what whisky it was! Very reasonably priced - if you are a whisky aficionado, I would highlight recommend fitting this in.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 29 September 2024

Did a VIP tour and was the only person on it. Rowan was my guide and she gave a great tour and was full of knowledge of how the casks were made.
The visitors centre was great, and there was a nice wee cafe there. Everything was spotless.
Would thoroughly recommend anybody with an interest in whisky pays a visit here.

The shop has been moved and is very much smaller so considerably less stock. It’s also the same place as the start of the tour so gets packed at times. The cafe is closed aswell 😞 this was a must visit on our bi yearly trips to the area but not much point in coming back again now.

Love this visit! I highly recommend checking this place out. It tells an often overlooked part of the whisky story and shows the physicality, skill and rhythm of Scottish manufacturing. The team here are amazing and don’t forget to try the Stags Breath! 🥃

An interesting and educational tour. about 1 hour for 10 pounds. Given by persons who pursue their work with passion. Even in the gift shop the prices are more than reasonable. Even for non-whiskey lovers certainly a good address
