Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stunning views from this area across the road from a car park. We could have spent a lot longer there than we did and we were really lucky to have arrived there on a beautiful sunny day. So worth the drive - you will be impressed

Take your time travelling from Ratagan to Glenelg along the steep and winding old military road.

Stop at many of the passing places and get out of your car for a look over the loch and mountains beyond. It seems each one is better than the one before.

There are two recognised lookout spots we found called Mam Ratagan and Bealach Ratagan but this area has a lot more viewpoints to offer.

Superb views from this Alpine style road. The climb is steep, but the rewards are high. Stop at the car park for a bird's eye view of Loch Duich

Very steep uphill drive but the views were outstanding. Could have sat there all day staring down at where we'd just came from

Heading to Glenelg we decided to take a diversion along a side road off the single track road. This led along Loch Duich to Ratagan and Letterfearn. The views of the hills and loch were out of this world. Well worth the single track road, which made for quite a challenging drive with hardly any other traffic..

SUPERB, STUNNING, FANTASTIC road to drive.
Stop in the large car parking area for super stunning views and best photo opportunity.
Scenery to die for, wonderful drive on alpine style road with plenty of passing places.

This road is steep, twisty and an exciting one to drive. You gain height quickly and its worth stopping off at the view point and look over Loch Duich and the surrounding mountains. Great route to Glenelg and Arnisdale which are well worth a visit and the traditional route on to the Island of Skye!

This is a superb drive and, because it is on a minor road, many tourists seem to avoid it and it is usually very quiet. There are some very scenic stopping points en-route, and if you have time I would suggest that you continue past Eilanreach to view the stunning Glenelg brochs.

One of the most scenic parts of Scotland, very remote, tiny roads with occasional passing places! And the tiny ferry to Skye, and a high chance of seeing a sea eagle.

The view itself was very nice but the route to it was described as steep and challenging. This was certainly not the case and in that respect we remained hungry. This route is certainly doable and not spectacularly steep. The view is nice but the trees have already grown reasonably well so don't expect to have perfectly panoramic views
