Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I found that after I saw the Miracle of the consecrated host became part of a human Heart, and the wine became, blood and both were type blood ab, as all the others Eucharistic Miracles around the world. I felt so humbled to see the Miracle and I thought how can anyone doubt that, Jesus, was the Son of God, and is Alive in the Eucharist.

Last year on Thursday 26 July 2012 we went to Lanciano after a day at the beach. We noticed the "Gustiamo Lanciano - I Giovedì dello shopping, del divertimento e dell'enogastronomia" II° Edizione. Basically one of the stores we visited mentioned the fair with all local products and meals to taste. We had dinner with food from the stands in Piazza Pace, great outdoor eating with a cool breeze. What do else do you need? Lovely night with live concerts and great atmosphere in car free centre (shops were even open after 22.00 hrs!).

I live in Santa Maria Imbaro, 5 km from Lanciano. For most of my daily requirements I go to Lanciano. the place is nice, mature, and safe. You find most of the things you need. It also has some touristic places. The area around is very beautiful, specially the landscape. It has both access to sea and mountains within 10 to 30 km. It is a quite place and good to have a stable life style. There are also some Kebab (Doner) shops in the centre.

If you drive right past Lanciano, you probably would never stop. By accident our gps took us through city where we got stuck in between narrow streets. And what a find that was 🤷‍♀️We dropped the car to look for ATM. We headed towards bus station and ended up in the old town. It felt like 21st century did not get yet to this corner of italy. Each shop had a name: butchery, bakery, cheese stands and old kiosks, fish mongers..roasted pork from the van stand and all other small shops full of goodies...Saturday fresh food market where u can get freshest ricotta and olive oil. I felt back in time...beautifull square with cafe full of locals reading news papers in the morning and having early gossip session. The atmosphere is as in movies in 50s. ..Italy that is not yet destroyed by tourists, progress and earthquakes... glad we were lost

I love wandering through the twisted streets of the old town. There is so much history and it feels as though the town has always been there. I like to walk through the residential areas in the old town and follow the city wall. There are some beautiful views to be found, as well as many churches.

The Historic Center of this city is truly a small gem of history, with houses that overlook narrow streets and very often imperceptible by cars, which once did not exist and find it impossible today to move where only horses or mules crossed far away.

Streets that are paved and unpaved, with custom buses so that they can pass unnecessary and carry the few passengers from one point to another in the city.
Then climb up or down to face patiently, if you want to get the centre right up, maybe holding the handrails that allow those who have more difficulty not to fall (I think of the winter season, which even here must not be totally devoid of snow and ice!).

Historic Lanciano is plenty of beautifully restored houses and extraordinary floral balconies, but also of some dense edifice and certainly difficult to live.
In fact, the living standards of a time contrast hard with the needs of today, and enter a housing in the centre, with a vertical development on multiple floors in which no more than one room per floor can be found, on steep and narrow stairs, with heights impossible to handle even for medium height people, requires courage and expertise.

During our visit, I found an interesting road panel showing "The Way of the Apostle Thomas", probably indicating a religious path that the pilgrim had to overcome to reach the centre of Luciano and get indulgences in the “Santuario” of the Eucharistic Miracle, one of the city attractions that is worth the visit.

Nevertheless, take time for a walk worth the effort: it is like taking a leap back in time and imagining how life was in Lanciano and in many villages in the region and in Italy in the past centuries, with so many sacrifices and so much poverty.

For those who plan to visit, the city centre is a “must”, a stop not to be missed, with a little attention however from those who had mobility and walking problems.

Magical, enchanting and in places medieval
..... no visit to Lanciano could ever be considered complete without having included a leisurely stroll around Lanciano Vecchia.
Narrow winding passageways twisting and turning through the rustic buildings, many of which have been loving refurbished inside and out to create picturesque photo opportunities!
It is truly a trip back in time and absolutely not to be missed!
