A Must See/ Experience
Sep 2020
Overwhelmingly good for the soul. Rich abundance of flora at every step. Special moment when Eugene got out of his bakkie to show us his special endemic plants and tips on where to find more. His passion and enthusiasm were tangible.

It is clear why Nieuwoudtville is regarded as the bulb "capital" of the world.
Beautiful and food for the soul. Should be part of everybody's bucket list.

Beautiful garden

We popped into the garden and the flowers were absolutely beautiful. You could get out of car and walk around for better pictures. We will be back to try the hiking trails.

A lot of hiking to be done here. Flowers only open after 10am, so the hike can be very hot, take water, hats.

Delightful flowers
Sep 2018 • Couples
Visited last week in September. Had phoned a few days before to check bulbs still in flower and received a yes. Arrived at 1.30pm and asked if we could go on the explorer. Told no as we were only two people, offered to pay for five as we had come so far, but were refused as the sun wasn't shining. We were not bothered about the daisies which would have opened in the sun but no luck. Set off on a couple of the walks...and the sun came out. The flowers were superb an absolute delight. This is called a botanical garden - it isn't. There seem to be a fair number of staff if only they labelled some of the plants it would have been great. Yes we can look them up but it would have been so much better just to have a few labelled.

A place of true beauty
Sep 2018 • Couples
Spent a wonderful day here in September. Had some lovely walks and the flowers were beautiful. Neat and clean ablution block and lots of information available on various boards. The guy at the gate where we paid to get in was most helpful and pleasant when we wanted to quickly go to the village to buy water. He let us back in again without paying for a 2nd visit.

Amazing flowers- carpets of colour. Beautiful cape weaver birds. A lovely peaceful stop that was once a sheep farm.

A must see for flower buffs
Sep 2018 • Couples
Hantam provided the additional insight into the Northern Cape spring flowers. Numerous 1- and 2-hour trails through fields of flowers make a person happy and in awe of nature. Don't miss the trees filled with bright yellow weaver birds.
