Our first visit here and we were not disappointed. We booked a Friday lunchtime tour of the house and the Guide ( Margaret) gave us a fascinating insight into the Sitwell family - It was so interesting, we didn't want it to end!! Worth every penny!! The grounds are beautiful and you can enjoy a shorter wander around the more... More

Lovely setting, nice outdoor area. But food was a big letdown! Lots of other customers left full plates! Bread was dry and not fresh. Scone was uncooked in the middle. Won't be back☹

A day trip from London to Chesterfield and back to visit the Sitwell family’s Renishaw Hall is very achievable if you are willing to do the two hours each way train trips to Derbyshire. What will be a memorable day needs a bit of careful planning, but is well worth the little effort required. Buy your train tickets on the... More

I live locally and have never visited before. The hall and gardens are lovely especially on a sunny day. The hall is open to the public by guided tour on certain days only and it would probably be advisable to book in advance. The tour was informative and interesting. Highly recommended. I can't comment on the tea room as I... More

We went several years ago and very much enjoyed the gardens. We went back for a tour of the house and lunch and had a wonderful time. It is very much a family business and the personal touch is everywhere. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. The café is expertly run and the menu clearly indicates what is gluten... More

We visited in September and there was still colour and variety in the gardens. We booked a house tour, which was quirky and interesting. The grounds and house were all immaculately kept, and The cafe has outside seating, enjoyed on a warm sunny afternoon, and us very good value. The Sitwell museum was interesting. A good place to visit

Only visited the cafe, which according to my companions hads been refurbished. It is a pleasant place to sit though table arrangement is a bit regimented. My cake was ok, looked delicious but was not as nice as it looked. It contained meringue which wasn't cooked properly, two of us had this and both agreed. My other friend had another... More

Beautiful gardens and water features. Most accessible to the disabled. Cafe good quality and reasonably priced. Own produced items on sale. A visit to the hall itself is recommended as it is still lived in and the guide was very knowledgeable. Good value for money friendly staff very relaxing

Visited with my eighty six year father. Best kept gardens we've seen in a while, very attractive, ample seating. Lovely to sit in the fragrant garden with a good book for an hour or two. Dogs were most welcome on leads which makes a nice change. Nice to see the cows so close to the gardens they blended in with... More

We selected of the specials menu on the wall , I had quiche salad and coleslaw, my friend had chicken and bacon salad. Both with a cup of tea. Our meals were around £8 each plus drinks .... More
