We met up with the in-laws here on Sunday afternoon, for a coffee and a stroll. The house was closed - only opens on Fridays apparently. Coffee was decent, and they also offer their own wine, made on site, which was pleasant enough. Lemon polenta...More

Returned again to the show in the beautiful setting of Renishaw Hall. A huge event and a must for any classic vehicle fan. Only 10 mins from the M1 Recommended

The gardens are fabulous we went in spring and everything was in bloom and buzzing with Bees. If you want to visit the House check ahead its a private house and opening times are limited. The Gardens are open every day in summer and are...More

Had a lovely trip to Renishaw Hall today with friends. We walked around the gardens and I was astounded at the variety of shrubs, trees and flowers they have. What a magical place. We finished off having a cream tea in the cafe. This completely...More

Cafe lunch food lets Renishaw down badly. Bad tasting broccoli soup and gross baked potato options. Menu needs a complete revamp to get nearer to Chatsworth standards. Gardens exquisite and the house tour a delight.

Sadly I have to add my voice to the others. Renishaw Hall is a wonderful place- the gardens are truly magical and I far prefer to visit them than Chatsworth or Hardwick. But the cafe is their Achilles Heel. It continues to disappoint. It should...More

We had a lovely tea, coffee and cake at the Hall's café in the courtyard area just outside the gardens. If you visit with going into the gardens or the house then the parking is free and you can also see the small museum and...More

I organised a successful outing to Renishaw Hall for 45 members from our Arts Society. The weather was lovely which added to the joy of being there. The gardens are wonderful and I recommend you leave plenty of time to wander around them. I booked...More

Five stars for Christine who did our tour. The minus is for the cafe. Didn’t have red bush tea or any Gluten Free cakes! But the gardens were brilliant. Well done Mr Gardener. The house in the same family for 400 years is just amazing....More

We spent a loveley morning admiring the gardens of this historic building. A walk around the lake is a must if mobility allows. Not a great surface for wheelchair users. The staff we spoke to were freindly & informative with cheerful outlooks. It is possible...More

Hi, Yes, grounds are generally very easy access. I had just had a heart operation so did not want steep hills and I found the paths very easy going. There are more challenging steep slopes which are best avoided but the... More

Hi yes you can access the café without paying to view the house and gardens but make sure you check opening times as there may be reduced opening hours in the winter months. Enjoy
