It's a good drive outside the growing city of Benxi but is definitely worth seeing. Part of a big tourist attraction containing gardens, beautiful walks and a lake. After we finished the visit we drove for another 1/2 hour or so to the Benxi waterfalls

The caves are part of a larger complex housing a museum, water gardens, Tariz river and gardens. The entrance fee for all these was 180 Yuan each, car parking extra. The caves are visited by a trip on an electrically powered boat which is fairly fast and the round trip lasts approx 20 minutes no commentary! Although large and well... More

Cave is decorated with all kinds of weird led lighting scenes. They sent you in a group to a speedboat tour that only takes 20 mins to go through the whole cave comparing to the normal 2 hour tour several years back. Very poor park management - only thing they are trying to do is to grab your money and... More

If you're close to the location or if you never been to any other cave it's worth to have a look, otherwise it's nothing out of the ordinary.Been there with a group of colleagues and spent around 2 hours. No waiting times for the tickets (200 RMB!!) and also hop on the boat was fast. You get the trip of around 30-40... You can get there by bus(10 rmb),car or taxi(80rmb). The cave was wonderful and magical and way better then I expected. Like most Chinese tourist destination there is lots of people so make sure you arrive early. Also don't miss the opportunity to hike up the mountain and overlook the whole valley below.

About an hour outside of Shenyang, we arrive at Benxi in the late winter. There is still a dusting of snow over much of the surrounding area and a good covering still on the ground in the parkland around the caves, which served to make the whole place that much prettier from the outset. The entrance to the caves itself... More

This place is situated quite a long way out of town so can only be accessed by groups or those with a car. I have been in many caves in China and all are much of a muchness lit by multicoloured lights with even more colourful interpretations of the rock formations. Most of this cave tour is conducted on an... More

Took us about an 1.5~2 hours each way to get there. The train takes about an hour and then you're greeted by hoards of militant taxi drivers. Take bus 16 to the local bus station and get a ticket for the water caves. Caves are pretty interesting but most likely damaged over the years. Lots of moss growing on the... More

Ist Takes about 1 hrs. from Shenyang to get there. Check with your Hotel during autum or winter if the cave is open. If you are lucky you have a boat on your own. They offer coats because in the cave it can be cold during the off season. The boat trip takes about 40 minutes. There is able a... More

The water cave was very interesting. They provide with raincoat before getting on the boat. Enjoyed the ride inside. The weather was warm and windy, but it was really cold inside the cave. Our Boatman, guided us through the river inside the cave, explained interesting part and also gave information about the place. Boatmen would mostly describe things in Chinese,... More
