Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We walked up the path half way down the road to Latheronwheel harbour. The start of the path began at the hairpin bend of the road. We walked along a gravel path, over an iron bridge and not more than 50m was the fairy’s village!

My kids aged 2 and 5 were so delighted to see Tinkerbell, Iridessa and Fawn watching them see all the well made fairy houses.

The whole idea is a great place to visit for people of all ages.

It is all kept clean by the Latheronwheel and Latheron Improvement Group. It has CCTV to make sure it isn’t mistreated and that everything is kept the same as it was when you arrived

Excellent short walk (1mile) through forest with many fairy houses to see en route! Start route by turning off a99 at Latheronwheel, follow road through village and towards harbour. Park in one of plenty bags at harbour. Here you can see some caves and walk along pebble beach. Walk back up road the way you came and see beautiful traditional bridge. Enter forest at sign posted ‘Latheronwheel Strath’. Follow clear path through forest floor and across bridge over babbling river. Part of the forest is marked as a fairy wood and here you’ll see lots of fairy houses made with great care, perfect for kids and big kids! Walk continues through forest onto main road A99, you can walk on pavement alongside road and loop back into latheronwheel village past houses back down to harbour. Please clear up all rubbish keep dogs on lead and make sure this place stays the gem it is!
