No, you cannot taste Mateus Rosé here. The wine is named after the village and the only connection with the village is that the Count gave permission to the owners of a young vineyard to use the name before realising that the wine would be...More

Stay away from this place! ! ! There are many other places to visit in Portugal with wonderful, exciting people who welcome tourists. We have arrived for a short visit and found out a very NONE-FRIENDLY place to visit. For 8.5 Euro we had the...More

The original home of Mateus Rose (but no longer) this lovely Palazza only an hour or so from Porto is well worth a visit to see a style of life now moving on. We spent a couple of very pleasant hours in the house and...More

We only paid for visiting the gardens and viewing the outside of the baroque style chateau. We loved the walk through the gardens. Took numerous pictures as souvenirs. Worth the 8,50 euros p/p entrance fee.

This is a lovely small palace and is still occupied so only a few rooms are available to visit. We had an excellent guide who gave us a potted history of the place and pointed out the more interesting features in the rooms we visited....More

This manor house is best known for the image that appears on Mateus Rosé bottles (although I am led to beleive the wine has got nothing to do with the manor house itself). We were passing Villa Real and took a small diversion to visit...More

It is really a very wonderful place to visit. They have guided tours of the Palace as well as the gardens. Do not miss this place if you are near Vila Real Portugal.

The English tour was wonderful given by Monica and we started out in the little chapel. Well worth seeing this plus its sanctuary. The whole place including the house has magnificent wood ceilings and all natural wood plus ornamental wood above each door entrance. Lots...More

This family palace, built in 1739 is truly awesome, lots of beautifully carved woodwork, artwork, and antique furnishings, is well worth the visit, which includes a guided tour in many languages. Most enjoyable was the vast network of gardens unlike any others I have seen....More

it's 12 euro per visitor, for the castle, the chapel and free for the gardens. If you like wine, spend the extra 5 euro for the wine tasting, it's something different from the well known rosé

Hi there, To be honest I am not sure! I purchased my ticket at the front gate, but there were a few tour busses there, so maybe you can book a tour? Best of luck! And wishing you excellent weather for your outing (:
