The Hydrangea festival is the highlight and the flowers are very pretty and worth a visit just for it.

There are some highlights in this park, such as sculptures and a hydrangea park. I couldn't tell you how nice the hydrangeas were as they were not blooming, but there were a lot of bushes, so I imagine they'd be quite pretty. You can get an overview of the town from vantage points, as you can of the coast etc.... More

Shimoda is an amazing and charming fishing town. Shimoda park is the perfect place for a late afternoon walk, just around sunset. Make sure to walk along the coast as well, to enjoy the beautiful sea view and small islands.

It's just an ok walk, some views. Quite a way to find it, especially without a car. We had a car but still I don't think it was worth a visit...

The park is quite large, with areas for camellia, hydrangea, and local plants. There are also some nice views of the harbor. It's fine for a hike, but it is not special enough to warrant going out of your way to see.
