Clean, Uncrowded and Comfortable
Aug 2019 • Family
A lovely place to while away a day at the beach. We found it to be clean, not too big & the staff very friendly. Our hotel had assisted with the booking on the previous day and I would say that reserving in advance is essential at the height of summer. We had a good plot for the four of us - first row, under one of the large umbrellas with four very clean and comfortable sun beds for €60. Other rows and shelter types would be cheaper I imagine. With a lunch of bruschetta and fries, two bottles of water, cokes and ice creams, the whole day came to €126 euros (you settle the whole bill on exit). Not a cheap day out I admit but if you want somewhere not too crowded, which is safe and comfortable then this is a great choice. The free public beach adjacent was also not busy but other than an ice cream van there are no facilities there, so if you are at the beach for the day then this lido is definitely a great choice. Before leaving, we made another reservation for later in the week.

No child friendly
Jul 2019 • Family
Just had a poor experience with this site, we asked to stay just 2hrs and a half ( until noon) because we were with our child and this is the maximum hour for her. The owner refused to make us a price for half a day: we were suppose to pay the full rate, 28 euros for two sunbeds and umbrella. This is really far away from Sicilian hospitality we met during our vacation, and in general with my work of traveller and reviewer for families with kids. Go to Noto to find amazing beaches full of services and at half a price ( even in July, not only in June as claimed by the owner). If you are with kids and need to stay just half a day, this is not the right place.

Stay
Jul 2018 • Couples
We went to that beach club two times in the middle of July. Both days there were only about 10 people, so it was really quiet and enjoyable!
We paid 28€ for 2 sunlounger and 1 umbrella, which is actually really expensive! (At other beach cluns we paid 15-18€ for the same)
The parts of the beach that are directly next to the beach club are for free and beautiful as well, if we would have had umbrellas with us, we would definitely have not paid for the beach club, but we came with the airplane, so we did not bring an umbrella.
The food at the beach club was really good, but compared to other beach clubs it was way more ecpensive as well!
The water at that beach is really, really beautiful! You can see your feet if you stand in the water till your chest is covered.

Excellent place
Aug 2017 • Family
We have been here twice during our stay in Syracusa. The free parking place at the beach is a bit dirty but when you rent an umbrella/sunbed you can park for free closer to the beach at tidy parking place. The food at the beach bar is simple but well prepared; a bit overpriced. However we vere satisfied with the atmosphere - the beach is small, not overcrowded even during a high season, clean and with warm sea. Mainly italian families.

Grate but a little dirty
Aug 2017
Lido Solleone is a grate place we're to eatable food is simple. It's a good place we're to stay, even if the shower of the place is not so comfortable. The sea is really good and clean but when the waves come in the first part is not so clean and there are the jellyfish. But of course is not they're fault.

Fabulous
Jul 2017 • Family
Visited this little lido on a Thursday in July. Ignore tripadvisor map and follow signs in the village to the free carpark. It had about 20 umbrellas hired out so was relatively quiet for the time of year. 7€ for a bed and 8€ for an umbrella. Delicious granitas and reasonably priced food. Was mainly Italian families there with well behaved children so a haven of peace compared to other more developed stretches along this coast. Beach was very clean and the sea was very clear and warm. Very few pebbles although the sea shelves a little before there is a sandbank a few metres out so it may not be suitable for very small children to paddle in unsupervised. With Eraclea Minoa, this was our favourite beach in Sicily.

You're right, you have to try elsewhere to find the same prices in all the other beaches. What else... the water unfortunately is not my own responsability and we are really sorry for that.

Dirty, rip off and out of no where
Sep 2015 • Family
As we were staying in Avola, we decided to give this place a go.

We arrived at 1 pm and asked for a price for 2 loungers and sun shade. I was told 20EUR for the whole day. When I pointed out it's already less then 1/2 a day, the woman grudgingly said 15Eur. When we started to go into the sea, we noticed the sea was full of floating rubbish - plastic lid, bottles, bags, small debris of unknown dirt etc. The sea was not shallow so my daughter could hardly venture into the sea. There was nothing else apart from the lido, so we couldn't go anywhere either.

We braved it for 2 hours but we decided to cut our losses and leave after this. We had a much nicer time by our Accommodation's pool side. How can anyone think this beach was nice is beyond me.

Great staff, great food, fantastic beach!
Sep 2014
We were looking for a sandy beach to enjoy food and the beach with our young daughter, this ticked the boxes and then some! The menu has been limited by weather conditions for landing prawns, which immediately fills you with confidence as you know they take their food seriously. Griddle cooked squid was sublime, accompanied with simple salads and bruschetta. Lovely drinks and very nice staff, sand was so clean and water lovely. Don't be put off by the road seemingly ending and having to drive through scrub land to enter!!

What a fantastic day at the beach!!
Jul 2014 • Couples
We visited in very early July, and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The beach, recommended by the owner of Hotel Borgo Pantano, is near the town of Avola but is definitely not a place most people would just wander into given its (a bit) obscure location. Of course, that keeps it from becoming overrun, which is great when you are one of the beach-goers. Also, a huge plus -- Dorothee and Adriano, the owners, are absolutely lovely people. It is a sand (not pebble) beach, which those of us with sensitive feet appreciate! The water was a perfect temperature, and clean - so clean. We dipped in and out of the ocean, and had an absolutely fantastic fish and seafood lunch, masterfully grilled by Dorothee. Accompanied by a suitably chilled Grillo (local white wine), we were set for anything!! Sunbeds and umbrellas are for rent, and if you call in advance, you can reserve for a particular location - we had "front row," closest to the sea. Can't wait to visit again!! Thanks so much, D and A!!
