Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a wonderful trip across to Skye on this lovely ferry. The last terminal ferry in the WORLD. Also, a coffee from the cafe before you board is a must. Try their ginger cake! And watch the ferry go back and forth.

If you want to still go over the sea to Skye then use the Glenelg - Kylerhea ferry.
It's the only turntable ferry still working in Britain. Very friendly staff.
Really quick crossing. They stop for lunch 1 - 1.30pm bear that in mind.
As an extra bonus, there is a lovely little tearoom on the Glenelg side.

This ferry is a little gem.
The tour to the ferry is offering loads of splendid views.
Tons of scenery.
The road is a bit of an adventure but fun to drive.
The ferry is very nice and an attraction itself.
The trip is worth every penny.
The crew is very friendly, helpful and FUNNY.
Greetings to the dog.
We enjoyed every second of the short trip.

Would we go again? YES!!!!!

Touring on motorbike around Scotland this was a very interesting part of the trip.
Just be warned motorcyclists, the roads on either side of the ferry are narrow and in some places a wee bit on the gravelly side so don't go too close to the edge.
Cars don't realise that we have to stay in the middle and can't reverse!!
The ferry has turn table, very unusual, and more so, a dog who seems to know the running of the ferry better than the humans. ;-)
A very different side to rural Scotland.

We drove down to Kylerhea to see the harbour only to realise that we were actually better off getting on the ferry rather than driving back… my 7-year old LOVED it - and the hot chocolate from the Shore Cafe on the other side overlooking the sound with a few seals was one of the highlights of our whole trip - thank you!

The little lighthouse houses an interesting display and little shop with honesty box while you wait for the ferry to return from over the water. The whole ferry experience is quite quirky with the turntable deck on the boat and the Skye ferry dogs (with their own postcards!)
If you aren't in a rush and are out to just enjoy the ride, take the Glenelg ferry to Skye!

Lovely trip across to Skye! The crew were lovely with the kids, and we all enjoyed the very short trip over. It’s a really efficient way to get across, highly enjoyable and would recommend.

The kids took the ferry by accident to get to the CoOp in Kyle, and loved it! Saw loads of seals and really efficient service.

Possibly the most beautiful ferry terminal and certainly the most interesting ferry crossing on a ferry that has served the west coast for nearly a century.

Over the see to Skye - a lovely romantic part of the journey from Glenelg to Skye - well worth the diversion from the bridge.
