Overview
More
Located deep within Talbot Bay in the Buccaneer Archipelago are the Horizontal Waterfalls. Massive tidal movements create a waterfall effect as water banks up against one side of the narrow cliff passage, to be repeated again on the turning tide. The twin gaps are part of the McLarty Ranges, which have two ridges running parallel approximately 300 metres apart. The first and most seaward gap is about 20 metres wide and the second, most spectacular, gap is about 10 metres wide. The falls can only be reached by boat or plane

Great trip. Lovely staff, helpful. Could an acknowledgement of honor to indigenous people of the area be included at beginning of trip.it would make such a difference. I want to recommend this trip to all my friends.

The Horizontal falls is an amazing way to spend a day.

The Horizontal Falls are in the Kimberley, in Western Australia's (WA's) far north. The Horizontal Falls are the result of the Kimberley's exceptional tides, some of the world's biggest. Please be careful if you take a boat trip, my mother fell in an almost drowned.

Dependa on the tides which influence the amount of water flowing between the 'gorges' that make the falls. Check with the tour operators. They do their best to catch the tide but can't control nature. Any way it is a lovely... More
