This is a beautiful part of Australia full of rich Aboriginal culture and history. I recommend getting to know more about the Traditional Owners, the Wunambal Gaambera people to truly enhance your visit. We are blessed to be welcomed on to this spectacular country.

Such a beautiful place but the choppers ruin any chance of peace and serenity. Would recommend saving the drive and visiting your nearest airport for the same experience.

The falls face essentially NNE, so late morning to midday would seem a good time to photograph, but they are spectacular at any time.

Where are you staying? We stayed in the APT Wilderness Lodge (which we would recommend) and this included the tour to Mitchell Falls. The only reason the lodge is there is for people visiting the Falls.

Hi, we travelled to Mitchell Falls in July 2014. The road to Drysdale River was not good but OK with care. Same for the next 100k to Mitchell Plateau turnoff. The 80+k in to Mitchell took about 3 hours and was not great but... More
